Trump’s VILE attack on a reporter crossed the line

At 4:36 yesterday afternoon, Donald Trump stood on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews and turned a straightforward question about his canceled rally into a personal attack. Reuters reporter Jacob Bogage asked how he was feeling, then whether skipping Kansas had anything to do with being sick of traveling. Trump began calling the reporter sick, attacked his appearance, and tried to retell an exchange everyone standing there had just witnessed. “I feel perfect. You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape. You look like hell.” Then he walked away. Hours later, his Sunday rally in Dubuque, Iowa, was canceled, too. He is 80 and has held 25 rallies since October 1. Exhaustion would be understandable. But the loss of control we witnessed, and everything happening around it, should make all of us pay attention.

Senator Chris Murphy, who attended a classified briefing on the Iran war, warned that Trump is reportedly planning to restart the war after the election. Murphy called the plan “insane” and said it would fail to achieve its objectives while setting off a new cycle of escalation. We are also seeing reports of reinforced missile defenses, repositioned troops, and additional warships and aircraft, alongside a battlefield burial exercise at Fort Bragg. At the same time, Pete Hegseth has fired Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who led some of the military’s most sensitive strategic planning. Pentagon officials accused him of leaks and failed polygraphs; two Pentagon sources disputed those claims to CBS News. Those allegations remain allegations. Yet Trump was already threatening Sylvia with “Long-term problems” while apparently believing the general was a woman. Brett Sylvia is a 54-year-old man. What does it say about our commander in chief that he can publicly threaten someone without apparently knowing who he is?

More than 39 million Americans have already voted, and Georgia shattered its first-day midterm early voting record. People are showing up.

We cannot forget how far we have come or how much power we have when we refuse to give up on each other. In five days, we will have our votes counted and leave no doubt that America belongs to “We the People.”

We are living through a pivotal moment for our country, and my goal is to reach as many people as possible with clear, factual information about what is happening. The more people who understand what is unfolding, the better our chances of pushing back against chaos, cruelty, and corruption ahead of the midterms.

Independent media is under attack. You can make a difference with a $5/month paid subscription. Your support allows me to keep telling the truth about the lies and destruction unfolding in our country, defend myself from constant pressure from MAGA extremists, and ultimately spread the message to more people.

I’m fighting to save our country (before it’s too late).

I’ll see you tomorrow,

Heather
