The $1.776 billion slush fund won't disappear. Todd Blanche is looking for other ways to get the money. It seems to me that Trump is not looking for a way to repay the insurrectionists for their past efforts (he's not that kind of guy), but to further motivate them for future use in the midterms. Rather than allow Democrats a victory which flips the House and possibly the Senate, he will both invoke the Insurrection act and declare a National Emergency. He can deploy the military, federalized National Guard, and those supporters who have already demonstrated a willingness to use violence.
For Trump, a victory by Democrats would mean accountability and a loss of power. On Jan. 6th, he demonstrated that he will use any means at his disposal to keep power. We already know what he is capable of. He has the authority, so he will use it. Do we really believe he won't?
