Lindsey will be missed
Like a member of the family
He reminded me of my dear niece Mary
Outspoken, but even more manly
He called me a race-baiting bigot
And xenophobic…oh well…
He said to make US Great Again
You should tell me to go to hell
He called me a joke and a kook
He declared that I was crazy
He said that I was unfit for office
But none of it ever phased me
He said back in 2016
That if I was nominated
The country would be destroyed, and we
Would deserve it, goodness gracious!
Then on January 6
He stood on the Senate floor
And said enough is freakin’ enough
Count me out! That’s it! No more!
But only a few months later
My Brother came around
Can we move forward without me, he asked?
The answer was no, he’d found
He’d finally seen the light
If he wanted to still be relevant
He needed to bend a knee to me
For I was the voice of the Elephant!
Our flags will fly at half mast
As I ponder who will replace him
My bestest buddy and dearest friend
