There are times when I have to take a break from news, and I deeply respect and admire how you immerse yourself in consuming a steady diet of the insanity that is destroying the country I have loved, in order to summarize what is happening in our Capital for your readers.

On another note, as an LCSW who has worked in the field of aging and end of life, I have administered countless cognitive assessments. As someone who is over the age of 65, I, too, have taken them. They are administered as part of a routine physical exam to nearly all of us. Trust me when I tell you that they are simple screening tools and are in no way difficult for most people. They are not a measure of intellect. They do indicate the capacity and capability of someone who may be in some degree of cognitive decline. Based on what I have seen, I strongly doubt the squatter living in the former People's House has the ability to "ace" any assessment with the exception of one that may measure damaging, intrusive, delusional, and grandiose beliefs.

That orange buffoon thinks that he'll still be in the WH in 8 or 9 years' time? Does he know that Presidents can only serve twice? Hopefully he won't last the next two years if he's impeached or his dementia gets worse. One can only hope.
I would like your commentary on Fintan O'Toole's piece in the latest NYReview of Books. Its an important essay in which (to sum it up in brief) asserts that Trump basically faked his insanity or craziness for many years and got away with it. But he did that for much too long and he has now gone beyond the tipping point. HIs dementia and narcissism have contributed to his efforts to delude others, and he is now genuinely over the edge. But, he claims, that's not sufficient reason to take his craziness seriously, to continue to feed his demon.
