Trump just said he'll get out of office "8 or 9 years from now"
He believes it
The President of the United States walked into the East Room nearly an hour late for the Small Business Summit, where more than 130 business owners had traveled from across the country for what was supposed to be the proudest day of their professional lives. He never told them that a man with a gun had just been shot by Secret Service nearby, or that a child had been struck by gunfire and rushed to a hospital. Instead, he spent 67 minutes airing grievances, bragging about his cognitive test results, telling the small business owners in the room that they probably couldn’t pass one, and then casually saying, “when I get out of office in, let’s say, eight or nine years from now.”
He called the Iran war “a mini war” and “a little detour.” He bragged that destroying 159 Iranian warships took two weeks, and his only complaint was that he didn’t get to keep more of them. He told the room that tariffs “really aren’t high enough” and that more are coming, while the Yale Budget Lab estimates his current tariffs cost the average household up to $940 in lost buying power. He looked sleepy standing behind his own SBA Administrator while she called him “the greatest commander-in-chief ever.” And he told a room full of family-business owners that “a lot” of people in their position commit suicide over the estate tax, then followed it with a joke about not liking your children.
He described being tested by a “group of doctors,” for cognitive tests. He named Ronny Jackson, the doctor who was demoted by the Navy for misconduct, as the one who declared his results historic. This is what late-stage authoritarianism looks like. Not dramatic and terrifying, but a 79-year-old man slurring through a speech while the people around him pretend everything is fine. And every performance like this pushes more people toward the exit.

We are living through a pivotal moment for our country, and my goal is to reach as many people as possible with clear, factual information about what is happening. The more people who understand what is unfolding, the better our chances of pushing back against chaos, cruelty, and corruption ahead of the midterms.
Thank you for your continued support. Your paid subscriptions have enabled me to add a video editor and reach more people.
Independent journalism is under attack. You can make a difference with a $5/month paid subscription. Your support allows me to keep telling the truth about the lies and destruction unfolding in our country, defend myself from constant pressure from MAGA extremists, and ultimately spread the message to more people.
I’m fighting to save our country (before it’s too late).
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Heather

Let's just suppose this evil demented sub-human announced he was going to drop a nuclear bomb smack dab in the center of western Europe at 8:22 am ET tomorrow. How do you suppose the US media, Senate and the House would react?
As I swallow a tiny bit of vomit yet again, Heather I thank you for your commitment, your diligence and your devotion to sharing factual information every day. There are times when I have to take a break from news, and I deeply respect and admire how you immerse yourself in consuming a steady diet of the insanity that is destroying the country I have loved, in order to summarize what is happening in our Capital for your readers.
Thank you for your reminders of hope. I trust and pray that you are taking care of yourself in all this. If you ever need to hit pause, your readers will understand. Please protect your beautiful heart and soul.
On another note, as an LCSW who has worked in the field of aging and end of life, I have administered countless cognitive assessments. As someone who is over the age of 65, I, too, have taken them. They are administered as part of a routine physical exam to nearly all of us. Trust me when I tell you that they are simple screening tools and are in no way difficult for most people. They are not a measure of intellect. They do indicate the capacity and capability of someone who may be in some degree of cognitive decline. Based on what I have seen, I strongly doubt the squatter living in the former People's House has the ability to "ace" any assessment with the exception of one that may measure damaging, intrusive, delusional, and grandiose beliefs.
Keep up the good work Heather, and I will keep subscribing and showing up.
