Trump just crossed a dangerous line

At 8:24 in the morning, from his private club in Palm Beach, before heading out to golf, the President of the United States posted 30 words that declared the death of America’s greatest enemy and named a new one. Not Iran. Not a foreign adversary. Democrats. Over a hundred million American citizens, rebranded as the single greatest threat this nation faces by a man who needed a new target because the last one stopped scaring people enough to keep them in line. He also reshared a meme calling for a third presidential term, using the same stolen election lie that sent a mob to the Capitol on January 6th. Then he demanded Congress kill the filibuster, pass his voter suppression bill, and publicly name any Republican who refuses to comply.

Meanwhile, the war he declared over is getting worse by the hour. He issued a 48-hour ultimatum threatening to obliterate Iran’s power plants if they don’t reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded by threatening to shut the strait completely and released a map showing power plants across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait with the message “say goodbye to electricity.” Gas hit $3.94 a gallon, up nearly a dollar in a month. The IAEA warned it cannot rule out a radiological release with consequences requiring the evacuation of areas as large as major cities. And analysts are openly asking what happens if a collapsing Iranian government, with four hundred kilograms of near-bomb-grade uranium, decides this is the moment to build a nuclear weapon.

Ninety miles off the coast of Florida, Cuba’s power grid collapsed for the third time this month. Eleven million people went dark. No electricity, no water pumps, no hospital power. This was not a natural disaster. It was the direct result of an oil blockade Trump imposed in January. Hospitals are limiting surgeries. Trash is piling up because there is no fuel for garbage trucks. And Trump looked at their suffering and said, “Whether I free it, take it, I think I could do anything I want with it.” He is starving a country into submission and presenting himself as its savior. Cuba’s military is now actively preparing for the possibility of American aggression. The man at the center of all of this spent his Sunday on the golf course.
