Today, we caught sight of something hanging inside the White House that no other American president, living or dead, would have dared to display. Something so horrific that any one of them would’ve been sickened to imagine another president actually choosing to glorify an enemy of democracy, inside the People’s House. Whether it was meant for public eyes or not, we saw it. And what it revealed was unmistakable:
Stay the course, Heather. Your posts matter, keep the heat on the administration. We resist by doing what you’re doing, putting your good name to the mob violence of the DOJ goons. The big chill on the press is actually the start of an attempt to cyclone bomb, deep freeze the leaks that are necessary in a free society. Putin honored in the White House in this way? Beyond horrifying!

And yes, horrifying is exactly the word. I have no intention of leaving. When I started writing last year, I promised I’d be here every single day, whether to document the fall of our country or its greatest comeback. I still believe it’s going to be the comeback.
I have my hard days, like so many of us do, but then I remind myself that’s what they want. We each have a place in this resistance, and we’re going to get through it together.
This situation feels so overwhelming. We must take care of each other and keep up the fight no matter how tired we are. Thanks for your consistent message of hope. It will likely get worse before it gets better.
Thank you, Cindee. I feel the same way. Every night I go to sleep thinking about all the horrible things that have happened that day. And every morning I wake up wondering what he’s done while I was asleep and what he’ll end up doing next. It’s exhausting.
And still, I truly believe what’s going to get us through this is exactly what you said, this community. I hear it from so many people: how much it helps just to know we’re not alone. That we’re still surrounded by others who value truth, decency, and kindness. That matters more than we realize.
I’m not someone who naturally leans toward hope. My nightly posts are as much for me as they are for anyone else. Sometimes, that hope is the only thing that helps me sleep. But I hold tight to the idea that we’re fighting now so that our children and grandchildren, and theirs after them, hopefully won’t have to. I think about the darkest chapters in history and how far things can fall. And then I look around and feel deeply thankful for everyone who still sees it clearly and refuses to look away.
And you’re right, it likely will get worse before it gets better. That’s why we have to store up our hope and hold each other up through it. That’s how we make it.
I have not been an admirer of Ilhan Omar’s politics, but I very much admire the instinctual courage with which she was ready to physically go after the jerkwad who terrorized her.
I was really impressed with her reaction, too. Watching that video and seeing how she went straight for him without a second of hesitation, just pure instinct.
I don’t mean to fact check you. But it seemed so absurd and preposterous, I had to find out for myself. It is true and he has one with XI as well. Head in my hands and heart sinking. Thank you Heather for exposing the lies and the grift.
I love that you fact-checked me. We all need to stay vigilant. I had the same reaction when I first saw it. It felt so far-fetched, even for him. But confirming it was true only reinforced what we already know: this is exactly who he is, and he’s not even trying to hide it anymore. He lacks basic impulse control, and no one around him seems to care about the greater good of the country. So now he’s free to publicly align himself with the worst of the worst, and that’s exactly what he’s doing.

Thank you, Heather. As I hear rumors that ICE is coming to Georgia I fear so much for their targets. There are already rumors flying through the high schools where our most vulnerable populations attend. My eyes and ears are open to the truth. My heart quakes with fear and courage.

Who is the Patroness of the US, none other than the Immaculate Conception, the Virgin Mary. Her big thing for saving the world is to pray the rosary and now more than ever is the time to start. Get ahold of the movie about Fr. Patrick Peyton, the rosary priest and you will come away feeling and knowing there is hope and not all is lost. The US as a whole has lost faith and because we have we have no anchor therefore we are drifting and don’t know where to turn. The Blessed Virgin is waiting and once you connect with her you will know what needs to be done. You will have the strength to fight this narcissistic, crazy person in the White House.
