Simply watch The Crucible by Arthur Miller. Better yet, produce it. Trump and his crooked cronies are not clever. A judge instigated the witch trials - the actual witch trials. They follow a similar pattern. Give the law to the crooked, the corrupt, and the innocent will be hanged.
Our daughter in law immigrated from Venezuela about 10 years ago. She is now a proud citizen of the United States. But, unfortunately, it looks like this administration wants to take us all in the direction that Maduro and Chavez took Venezuela. She said it is even worse than as presented to the world because the government controlled the news and the voices of critics (ummm…Jimmy Kimmel, Pentagon journalists and others). She is an internationally, certified engineer, but left a good job, her family and her country for many reasons. Her employer said to her either you go to rallies to support Maduro or you’re going to be fired. She did not give him the pleasure of firing her, she quit. Their beautiful home was ransacked and stripped of anything of value. It now sits as an empty shell. Don’t support Maduro? Then you don’t deserve to have anything, ever. Including legal protection. Her sister quit her job as a newscaster, left the country and became a US citizen. It was either that or sell her soul and integrity just to keep her job. Investigating non-supporters for no legitimate reason? Yep, that too…a regular occurrence. I am extremely grateful for Governor Newsom’s bravery.
Our DIL and her sister recognize the behaviors and steps this administration is taking the US. It’s dejavu and it ain’t pretty.
BUT there is a glimmer of hope in that Trump‘s ballroom was stopped, his name was taken off the Kennedy Center, the 1.8 billion payout for now is stopped and other personal desires of his are being challenged . Maybe we are taking our country back. I HAVE to live with that hope. November can’t come fast enough.
