Who is really running the country? Because there’s no way it’s the president. In his CBS interview yesterday, Trump admitted he didn’t even remember who he pardoned, the billionaire who pleaded guilty to one of the biggest corporate crimes in U.S. history. That moment made it clear: someone else is making the decisions. Is it just the Project 2025 enablers like Stephen Miller and Russell Vought? Or are there others we don’t yet see?
I go back and forth on this one. I think Bannon is just an opportunist who pretends to share "insider" news just to stay relevant and profit from the cult. At least that is what I think most of the time. And then other times it does creep into my thoughts that maybe he still is in that inside circle.
I think you have it right, Trump’s mind is gone and Vought, Miller, Bessant, and Rubio are likely calling the shots on policy, deportation, finance and foreign policy. It is calamitous and maddening but it seems people are finally awake. Inflation, Ice madness and insanity like the East Wing ballroom destruction seem to have caused Americans outside the cult to move strongly against Trump and Co. Polling shows this and hopefully today’s elections demonstrate repudiation of Republicans across the board. This next year will be the critical fight as Trump & Co. race to consolidate power before the midterms. We have to win bigly.
Agree. This next year is going to be rough. I'm anxiously awaiting today's election results. Guardedly optimistic that we get good news that sets the tone regarding what we can expect from next year's elections.
Bannon is the 3rd wheel on t rump’s tricycle. He's been popping up out of the shadows with comments about what they're doing.

I know what you mean. The occupant doesn't really acknowledge his comments so it's hard to tell.

It's many like Bannon and Miller and Vought but also Johnson over and over again.
Johnson... I could say a lot about him. I'll save it for later, though.
