With puffy eyes, hunched shoulders, and a bruised hand, he sat behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office and told us just how much he despises being the president. He said "
Thank you for your knowledge and ability to communicate so clearly. These are difficult times, the chaos and the misinformation are in danger of drowning us all. Your post today cuts through the morass and offers a life jacket…Brilliant
Wow, Heather, this column contains MUCH more opinion and less factual analysis than usual. I happen to agree with all of your opinions as expressed in this column, but you may want to consider flagging some of it as opinion rather than fact. Specifically, paragraphs 12-18. These paragraphs present an extremely reasonable conjecture, but it IS a conjecture, NOT fact. Of course, if you have proof of any of that, our problem is solved because that proof would destroy the Administration in an atomic blast.
Regarding the New York Magazine article, please make a PDF of the article and email it to all of your paid subscribers. It doesn't cost anything (other than time), and it's perfectly legal. Thanks for what you do, as always!
The only qualification in paragraphs 12-18 is in #13: "It's not hard to *imagine*... and " architect *likely* came to him...". All the other information is presented as facts without qualification. Some additional qualifying words should be added in key sentences, such as the one about Project 2025 selecting JD as the next puppet. I also wonder if what Heather has written in those paragraphs could be considered libelous. She needs to protect herself. A few minor updates would be prudent.
Heather - thank you for such a powerful argument, a timely and very important aspect to today’s situation; if we don’t know with whom we are truly fighting, we will lose. I restacked your piece as I feel it’s so terribly important now more than ever. Thank you for all you do for the resistance. Mark
Everyone can see it but no one says it. The behavior is textbook dementia - believe your own eyes and ears. All the signs of a disabled puppet with those closest to him running amok with power.
“…it’s easier to gain approval from extremists than earn respect from the informed.” A great line from today’s posting. Yesterday, as I sat in a family gathering for a party, I noticed no serious discussions between all my evangelical relatives, but great excitement when the TV was turned on to a ‘serious and important’ football game. Maybe there is little hope for America if the people are so involved with shiny trinkets, not wishing to suffer the pains of pondering.
I knew year ago when Trump was in his first term that the country would one day regret him ever residing in the White House. He had done nothing but divide and destroy this country from day one.
J.D Vance may scare me even more. What has happened to the Republican Party?
if you haven't done so, read the Powell Memorandum (see link below). Written in 1971 it was the blueprint the GOP followed ever since and gave us Reaganomics, Neoliberalism, Trump, and Project 2025. It took 45 years to manifest Trump and another decade to give us Project 2025... Who is writing an updated version of the Powell Memorandum that can get us out of this rut and into a communitarian world instead of the every-person-for-themself world we are living in now? Thank you Heather. I love your mix of hard data and personal opinion. You’re a gifted writer!

I think you missed the flags already present.
