No executive order can be enacted that changes the manner, method and eligibility for voting by the Federal Government. It’s in the Constitution.

Granted, the Constitution is a barrier to much of what Dictator Trump’s sociopathic minions want to do to end 250 years of Democracy, but this EO is a legal non-starter, and will be met with the strongest legal opposition by Marc Elias and other pro-Democracy groups.

Should SCOTUS eventually rule in favor of this EO, should it ever get that far, our nation will cease.

Terrifying for US and the rest of us (I'm writing from England)

They might as well embalm him now! But a lovely picture of your writing buddy - thank you. Also thank you for writing. I read much faster than I listen, even playing at almost twice the proper speed, so I'm extremely grateful that you haven't been podcasting as your only means of communication.

Sadly, I suspect that 99% of “they” or “his allies” is just Stephen Miller. The big guy, who gets all the attention, is just a pawn.

I’ve been saying this for nearly a year. He’s the brains behind Dump. (And possibly also Russ Vought, who is from the Heritage Foundation, and is now the Director of the OMB.)

So sad that a once great country has to rally its people to protect what should be inalienable rights

The exclusion of certain groups for voting or indeed with healthcare is heinous

I’m in the U.K. - perhaps we should offer ‘an intervention ‘ to monitor the polls for a free and fair election as has been done in the past with tin pot directors in third world countries

Imagine the strength and success of the US if all the energy expended on this sh*t show was directed for the greater good All the hours expended trying to second guess his next move Time wasted on the latest twist and unfathomable turn of the administration

Guess what Donald ? by putting your people first, having a workable healthcare system, decent wages, affordable groceries etc - people would admire and respect you and would CHOOSE to vote for you !

You blew it big time- and we aren’t going to let you get away with it

Hmm our royal family are not your solution !

Yet they may still get away with it. Whether we true patriots let them or not.

I had asked a cyber friend of mine who lives and works near London if he thought the crown would be amenable to coming over here after the Trump era ends if it ever does and do some detox and rehab. He said he did not have any clout with the crown, but he felt sure they would be amenable to it if some higher ranking Americans asked for it. As a former colony of the crown, I think they owe it to us.

Chilling. How he and those propping him up must thrive on hate. Hate for our citizens, our non citizens and anyone other than white so called 'christians' . Heartsick but fighting on.

The crazy is going to continue to escalate until the midterms. Trump and the compliant Republicans only way to complete their Project 25 takeover of America (and stay out of jail) is to retain power. They can't get it all done before November. Can we defend against their escalating desperation and criminality? That is the question and our job is to somehow fight them off and save the country. Stakes couldn't be higher. Scary times to say the least.

The governors have total control over the polls via the National Guard being called in to protect voters. When ICE or some other federal force comes to the polls, that is who they should meet: the state militia, not in dayglow vest but full regalia of protection. So-called red states will need to protect their voters as well from those who would stop citizens from voting because they changed their name when they got married, or perhaps, because their skin color or an accent makes them suspiciously unAmerican. Any governor that does not protect his/her votes will meet them at the polls next election. Fight fire with fire. Fight fire with fire. Fight fire with fire.

The hate that fuels these diatribes … it is most depressing to me that this manifestation of the Devil draws vast crowds to his speeches, cheering his obvious, grandiose lies that will bring literal hellfire of fascistic Terror on our Democracy.

I’m a recent subscriber. I live in what is arguably the Trumpiest part of what is arguably the Trumpiest county in what is arguably the Trumpiest state in the union. Mississippi. I am an outlier. A misfit. Even in the church I have attended for over 40 years. They are good folks just ignorant of Trumpism. Not stupid and there’s a big difference. They think it’s just politics and Trump is on the right side. But it is not just politics. And I will not quit resisting Trumpism.

Elections r run by the states. The most sweeping thing that this administration can do, is to make elections run by the government and not the states. The infrastructure to change all that within the 7-9 months would b monumental. Impossible I might even say. Many Americans r still asleep, I grant u, but when this wakes them up, it will b war. People r used to the voting system we have and before it costs them time, effort and money, there will be the outcry we r waiting for. I do believe they can’t pull this switch off fast enough. It takes years for successful dictators to usurp their country, not months. Trump and the people controlling him r already losing ground. They haven’t even built their army yet!! Their numbers r going down not up. We will know what Americans r made of, and I believe they r stronger than this enemy. They r banking on us all to b stupid and compliant. Who do they think will man these posts of throwing out votes? It takes an infrastructure they don’t have. Stephen Miller thinks he’s invincible as he shoves trump out in front of him. He thinks we’re stupid and he thinks he’s brilliant. What a little man.

Time for all of us to call our U.S. senators and representatives at their D.C. offices. Tell them to vote for the Iran War Resolution Act (it will clarify, as we all know, that the president needs Congressional approval before authorizing acts of war. The switchboard number for all D.C. offices is 202-224-3121.

Iran war will be the Declared Emergency! No doubt about it.

I see all around me family, friends, colleagues, neighbors who choose to ignore or admit that the situation is as disastrous as it is. They stay in their own little world surrounded by apathetic people like them and avoid any conversation of the reality at hand. They stay busy with their private lives and reject the opportunity to take action. They neither fully support me nor reject me. They give me a nod and tell me I have the right to do what I feel necessary while quietly thinking I’m wasting my time.

You are such a superstar, why don’t you put up a flag for us to rally round to talk about how to get rid of this administration? It is urgent even for the survival of our industrial civilization, given overshoot and nukes at the ready. Everyone talks about how they should be gone, but no ideas for how are on offer. That’s what my Substack deals with, and it incudes telling my subscribers to pay attention to you.
