I'm afraid Heather fails to discuss the mass media's role in this tragic scenario, and it is not pretty. Simply put: Trump is not a mentally stable man, and covering him as if he is mentally stable is egregious. So while he bashes the media incessantly, threatens to take away licenses and spews out his sick garbage, NO ONE has the guts/balls/backbone/intelligence/integrity to confront the longtime sociopath (now with fronto temporal lobe dementia) with his lies. And I mean "confront." See what the sick man does then!!

I am new to Heather's substack and delighted to have discovered such a clear thinker, observer and writer about the goings-on in USA, although to be fair, much of it writes itself if you only take verbatim transcripts of Trump's 'press conferences' as one's material. I'm in London UK where our Prime Minister has been frequently insulted by Trump, but hey, he must be doing something right to deserve such disdain. Seriously, It is so sad to see the mighty and beautiful country of USA being led by incompetent and corrupt sycophants attached to the President's coat tails who dare not call him out. Similarly the media are scared of having their access to the administration if they criticize the White House. So they tread carefully. Meanwhile, I won't have a word said against Kaitlan Collins whom I absolutely love! I'm glued to CNN and admire all their journalists but now I'm worried the company's future being in jeopardy with the impending takeover. However, we still and hopefully, always have Heather telling us unvarnished truths, so please keep going! And thank you.

Well said. BUT....losing access to the "administration" of "incompetent and corrupt sycophants" wouldn't be losing a single thing since the media is fed only lies and threats. We may differ about Collins, but agree that CNN's future is in jeopardy.

BTW. My son lives in Islington (Angel). I love London. Geri

I agree that most media is allowing this to continue. There are some really good writers that are telling the truth, as ugly as it is. But it hasn’t stopped the administration. They feel they can do just about anything, including cause more deaths of our citizens.

I agree that there are some good reporters who are telling the truth, but with so many competing voices, they are sadly drowned out. And when I hear people including CNN's Collins talking about Trump as if he's "unconventional"- not a raving malignant narcissistic - it makes me sick to my stomach. She is a pathetic excuse for a journalist.

You need to watch Heather Delaney Reese’s video. Period. She explains exactly how out of control Trump is, she has receipts, and her analysis is spot-on. Update: In a separate and newer post, Heather also points out how Trump is advocating charging Journalists with treason. This thin-skinned, disgusting, senile perverted old man is way past the Use-By date, and he needs to go. He needs to go, and he knows it. He will continue to escalate his own treasonous, dangerous, and flat-out un-American rhetoric to try and affect the outcome of the mid-year elections Trump will answer his personal cell phone any time, regardless of who’s calling. He is also more than happy to talk to whomever he’s speaking to.

Trump’s personal cell phone number is available on the black market to anybody who offers enough money for it. A reporter called the number and spoke to Trump for forty-five minutes about a litany of topics. One of the most chilling off-the-cuff remarks Trump made dealt with how Iran’s Kharg Island has already been bombed severely, “We may bomb it again, for fun.” At the same time he’s on the phone with a journalist, he’s also posting anti first-amendment, anti press screeds on Trump Social. He once told Lesley Stall of CBS: “I do this so that when you question me in the press, nobody will believe you.” Brendan Carr continues to use the FCC as an enforcement arm for Trump’s policy, going after media companies, and approving media mergers that suit the political aims of this administration. And don’t forget Lindsey Graham’s Senate bill S.3546, where he is looking to remove restrictions on liability for internet services (“Sunset Section 230 Act”)  in an attempt to stifle online discussions and comments like the very one you’re reading right now. MAGA knows they cannot interfere with our First Amendment rights and they know it. Indeed, it’s that very same First Amendment that allowed their idealogical poison to permeate political discussion in the first place. Now, they want to pull the ladder up with them, as a means to stay in power. It’ll be a cold day in hell before America willingly gives up these rights, but that won’t stop these jokers from giving it a try.

Your posts are critical to the process of removing the very dangerous president and all his men and women from the damaged White House. My only request to you, the mover and shaker of information essential to this removal, is to do any and everything in your power to reach conservative readers and publications, such as Free Press, The Wall Street Journal and so many others read by often right-wing Americans, but read, also, by right wing Americans who just may have an inkling now that their choice of leader is contributing to the disaster we are all experiencing. And they mustn't be chastised and told they were wrong, because we, too, have been wrong about our Democratic choices during the election that were a bit too hasty and had disastrous results in aiding the voters to install the tyrant in office. Those who put Trump in office were angry, ignored, desperate people who felt that they were forgotten by the elite, wealthy movers and shakers of our society. They were right and desperate, a dangerous state to be in when change is sought. We have to include conservative and yes, some MAGAs, in the structure of action to save our country. And yes, there are MAGAs who are realizing their mistaken views of the saviour that was to be Trump. These views must be nurtured and fed by blogs such as yours, Ms Reese, and how to get them to the other side is a formidable task, but I believe that more Americans are listening than we can imagine....turn up the volume.

For comparison. Petrol (gas) in New Zealand where I live is now $3.03 per liter of 91 octane up from $2.50. That's $6.67 per gallon!
