On New Year’s Eve, as families gathered and fireworks lit up the sky, the President of the United States posted propaganda and hate. No message of hope. No call for unity. Just rage and division.
While he ranted about voter ID and movie stars, millions of Americans braced for soaring health costs, frozen child care funding, and a wave of preventable disease. Measles is back. Ballots are at risk. Benefits are being stripped. And Jack Smith confirmed under oath that there was "proof beyond a reasonable doubt" of Trump's crimes.
This is not a government built on truth. It is one centered around corruption. I’m angry. But I’m ready. And I hope you are too. 2026 is here, and we are righting this ship.
2026 will be a pivotal year for our shared fragile earth. So much suffering. Will our ruling class choose to double down on criminal negligence and luxuriate in their ill gotten great wealth ? Or will they choose to use that wealth to restore the rule of law and return to participation in ameliorating the suffering ? The Clooneys have obviously chosen to do the latter.
I have long since moved beyond the stage of trying to understand wilful ignorance and abusers of power in an attempt to kindly mitigate their social harm. Such individuals do not recognise justice and are shameless egoists. Rage is the truly balanced response. Many thanks for your erudition. Glad to welcome your righteous rage.
Heather, only thing I would add, is this regime’s intent to make the recording ICE an act of “domestic terrorism” with the potential of lengthy prison sentences. The US is not Russia, Belarus or North Korea but this administration is on a pre-planned course to join the world’s most authoritarian regimes. Combined with all the arbitrary and targeted cuts to the health and welfare support that you highlight, anger is the only righteous response. But, a focused and determined anger that brings like minded people together and seeks to expose the truth to those that are not either informed or have fallen victim to the regime’s propaganda. It is time to take up the fight.
