Trump's incoherent babble has reached a new level of absurdity

Sitting behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, the President of the United States claimed a former president called him to say “I wish I did it” about the Iran strikes. He teased and hinted it was a Democrat. By evening, representatives from all four living presidents, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden, had issued statements confirming no such conversation ever took place. He made the whole thing up to justify his war.

During the same 54 minutes in the Oval Office, Trump picked up a model B-2 bomber and hugged it. Twice. He claimed it carries a 200,000-pound bomb. It doesn’t. The B-2’s total payload capacity is roughly 40,000 pounds. No such bomb exists. He said “taking Cuba” four times, not freeing, not supporting, taking, then praised the island’s weather and tourism potential before taking a swipe at Puerto Rico. He referred to Gavin Newsom as “the president of the United States” and never corrected himself. And at a Kennedy Center luncheon earlier that day, he revealed a Republican congressman’s terminal diagnosis on camera after the Speaker of the House said, “That wasn’t public.” Trump’s response: “I did it for him first and for the vote second, but it was a close second, actually.”

He also dismissed NATO as a burden, saying, “If it ever comes time to defend us, they’re not going to be there.” But they were there. After September 11th, NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in its history. Our allies sent their forces. More than 1,000 coalition soldiers died fighting alongside Americans.
