Another batch of Epstein files just dropped, and this time, Trump's name is all over them. Flight logs confirm he flew on Epstein’s jet at least eight times, despite years of public denials. A disturbing letter ties Epstein to Larry Nassar and implicates Trump in their shared worldview. A separate FBI tip alleges that Trump witnessed an unthinkable crime in 1984. And while survivors have been telling us the truth for years, the system kept protecting the powerful. But today’s news didn’t stop there: the Supreme Court just blocked Trump from deploying the National Guard in Illinois, key donors are being exposed in a massive pay-to-play scandal, and cracks are showing inside the MAGA-aligned Heritage Foundation. When you zoom out, you can see the glimmer of a tide starting to turn.
Thanks so much Heather- this was difficult to read even after you distilled it down to the most salient points. I can only imagine the “ickyness” of going through the latest releases in detail. Especially after Christmas shopping with your kids.
And even though I, like so many others I read about, are struggling to find any joy in the season this year, that little ray of light may finally be seeping through the nearly impenetrable insulation that dear leader and his cult army have created.
As horrible as it is to comprehend the things that these children went through, maybe it’s that disgusting, revolting truth that will shatter the protective cocoon. And as strange as it is, maybe in this upside down year, this is what it takes to bring back justice.
If it happens, perhaps it could even be considered a Christmas miracle. (Be sure to give yourself a break - you need and deserve one!)
Thank you for your writing! It is so important to get this information to people- like me, living in rural Vermont- but I will keep up the fight for democracy!
Thanks for the summary. I know it is hard for those of you who have had and continue to have lives not touched by this structural institutional corruption. The crimes you listed are true. No doubt. As is the ongoing genocide in Palestine. These are all further exposures of a pattern of global political and financial power abuses rooted in our UK/US/Israel special relationship postwar global empire building. Financed by our fossil fuel military industrial capitalist politics.
The new president of Ireland, Catherine Connolly, in response to Netanyahu’s genocide in Palestine, expanded the simple judicial question into a phisosophical one. What are we, as a species, doing when we choose to turn away from seeing the realities before us ? Our children will be carrying an even heavier burden of oppression by power abusers and suffering if we continue to turn away from the horrific crimes being daily committed in plainsight by our present ruling class.
Good. We all want that. As a native NYC baby, survivor of child rape by Maxwell’s Daddy circuit in 1970s London, educated amongst those around Ghislaine, if you want to effectively take down the Trump criminal oligarchy and global network now running American political high institutions, you will never succeed unless you see the decades deep pattern of criminal connections between rogue US/UK/Zionist financial and Intelligence cartel assets behind it. As well as their major funding source: the fossil fuel corporations. Palestine possesses vast untapped oil fields off their coast. Hence the complicity by the Trump Family in the genocide and landgrabbing. Which is the connection I am alluding to. I was forced into a constantly losing fight for justice and truth as a teen, in their filthy trenches, one way or another, with these fuckers for half a century. I know of what I write.
Not every thing is about the suffering of the Palestinians. Yes, that war is horrific as is Netanyahu, as is Hamas. But bringing every article and story back to the Palestinians is delusional. As an American, I am primarily concerned about our existential crisis with an evil, madman President and reject turning everything to a screed about the Palestinians.
''the more they stumble, the closer they are to collapse, and the better positioned we are to rebuild something stronger in its place.''
Something stronger just may be a rewriting of the Declaration of Independence, with clearer descriptions of the enumerated 'inalienable rights''. Maybe patterned after the The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
