Donald Trump’s interview sent shockwaves through U.S. alliances after he questioned NATO, dismissed the sacrifices of allied troops in Afghanistan, and repeated false claims that America carried the alliance alone.
This wasn’t a slip or clumsy wording. It was a deliberate choice to undermine decades of trust with countries that fought and died alongside the United States after 9/11.
The response was immediate, especially in the U.K., where leaders, veterans, and families of the fallen called his remarks insulting and unforgivable.
And while Trump keeps pushing our allies away, people here at home are pushing back. Large protests in Minnesota are showing the world that he and his cruel regime do not define who Americans are or what we stand for.
He is a LOSER and a cognitively impaired coward, ignorant of history, and a liar. He is a disgrace who should be removed from office. Congress must grow a spine and remove him!!!
Heather, this is so incredibly well written. Your words went straight to what so many of us carry in our hearts each day, but can’t always articulate. The damage being done to NATO and the relationship with our allies is part of this story and needs to be repeated over and over. Thank you.
I so wish there was some way to deliver this message to those leaders who spoke out against him after his infuriating interview. You do speak for those of us who are out on the streets as often as we can be, in any kind of weather, invalidating everything this administration does with our words and actions. Thank you.
As an Australian we too were in Afghanistan. We have supported the US I believe in every single military adventure that we have been asked to support. I get that there are many Americans you genuinely speak for but if Americans don’t solve this problem really soon it will become a global disaster. And whose side will we be on then? He is breaking ties that are generational. The Canadians have already had to take that decision.
We are with your statement. Some of us retain our humanity and believe the country will overcome this current administration.

You've not been getting much sleep the last 2-3 days, I think.
Thanks for another post that's both cogent and yet reflective of what most decent people are feeling right now.
