Not just the USA, but the whole world would be a much safer place with out Trump. 🤞🏻🙏🏻

When is this all going to end? The US has a President who's acting like a child at kindergarten who rants and raves when he doesn't get his own way. Isn't there anybody in the White House who can curb his behaviour? I'm from the UK and although we have our own problems, they're nothing like what the US is going through at the moment.

Yeah. I’m so tired of hanging in the edge of that cliff. It’s been like 300 years since he rode down that escalator to completely and gleefully destroy every thing we love .

That’s when we entered an alternate timeline: that moment when he rode down that fake gold escalator!

My wife and I are visiting her family in China, and right now I--a native-born US citizen who can trace his ancestry back to a Revolutionary War officer and from him to the Mayflower--am feeling safer here than at home. And I shudder at the prospect of what might befall my better half, a naturalised US citizen who's university-educated and who has never had so much as a parking ticket in her entire life.

I'm starting to wonder seriously if we'll really want to come back next month... or if we'll even be able to do so.

It's not just this régime's policies that worry me; it's the capriciousness, the wantonness, the chaos... all to feed the insatiable maw that is Donald Trump, and to allow his handlers and enablers to turn America into a foreign country where one no longer knows exactly what to expect from one day to the next. The only certainty is that He Who Must Be Fed hates and consumes The Other, all the while demanding that The Other adore him without question.

I'm getting a bit long-winded and a bit emotional, so I'd better stop now, but thanks for letting me vent.

Heather, I've become a real fan of your writing. Both because I recognise in it the work of a peer who's at least my equal, and because... it helps. Thanks.

Agreed on all counts. If I were safely out of the US, I don't think I'd come back.

I live in Northfield and I found this on someone else’s page but thought I would share it here. This is also still true in Northfield. ICE has been parked outside of the high school for several days when the kids get out. This is far from over. PLEASE READ AND SHARE:

Today a friend in Texas said that news of Minneapolis has completely dropped off of their local news. To be clear, ICE presence is still heavy in Minnesota. Not just the Twin Cities, but the suburbs and rural areas, too. Daily life is still a challenge, especially for our vulnerable neighbors. The ridiculous and dangerous traffic disruptions haven’t stopped; ICE “agents” speed everywhere, including residential areas, they run red lights, don’t slow down at Stop signs. Detainees at the concentration camp (Whipple) are subjected to theft of their belongings, including IDs, there are beatings, rape, deprivation of food, water, sanitation, and medical care. Everyone is manacled. Someone poured gas onto the memorial for Renee Good and set it on fire. Businesses are suffering and the damage will take a long time to overcome.

Please don’t look away, they are on their way to your town, too.

T****’s comments about SCOTUS: every accusation is a confession.

Carletta Starks's avatar

Part of the problem is that this SCOTUS helped create this monster by giving him immunity. Now they want to reign him in. 25th Amendment next?

None of what’s happened or is happening should come as a surprise. What do people expect when they elect a serial liar, a fraud, a sexual predator, a malignant narcissist who believes he’s a messiah, and a thief to the highest office in the land? It was all predictable. And it was all preventable.

I think we are witnessing narcissistic collapse.

I don’t even know what to complain about anymore. That businesses will now just stack another 10% on top of the last tariff price increases, or how much I miss having a presidential administration with that word you used, dignity.

My favorite segment of all! “The President of the United States accused the Supreme Court of being controlled by foreign powers, because they told him he couldn’t do something the Constitution says he can’t do.” They are “Slime balls!

What a piece of donkey doo brains THIS SLIMEBALL Trump is…he sounds so uneducated/ignorant. Let our country’s constitution, laws and educated citizens continue to unravel this MAGA farce slime ball movement and its peach colored supreme slime ball leader. Now is time for real leadership that scantily exists in Congress to finally step up and take all appropriate and lawful actions towards removing this piece of filth! History will judge us ALL, it is TIME TO TAKE ACTION NOW!

Thanks Heather. For me as Canadian I cannot understand why the American political system does not provide for the removal of a fascist dictatorship. Can you please explain?

At first look, everything is feeling unfixable. At second look, it feels like the ones who r hurting this nation r imploding! What should we do? The same thing we’ve been doing because it’s in our building where theirs is in the destruction. They will ruin themselves! I can see trump’s handlers now….scurrying around trying to do damage control. Sorry man! Cats out of the bag! Ur running out of time and options. Ur enemy is u and the squeeze is like a python. Ur outa here!!!

I’m sure his voters find his behavior all very entertaining, like watching wrestling or chicken fighting or things of that ilk.

Those who could invoke the 25th Amendment will not, because he is such a useful tool for them.

Thanks Heather. You give me hope.

Trump is willfully ignorant! He knows nothing about our constitutional republic and could care less. In fact he would like to burn it all down so he doesn’t have to be a “good boy” and play by the rule of law, especially the supreme law, the Constitution. In fact for him and his ilk, his kids, Jared, Elon, Thiel, Vance, Bondi, etc, the law prevents them from living their spoiled rotten lives.
