On Christmas Day, while most world leaders shared messages of peace, Donald Trump ordered airstrikes, threatened political enemies, and ended his public statement with “Enjoy what may be your last Merry Christmas.” It was a moment that revealed how far we’ve fallen, and how much work still lies ahead.
Thank you for your message. It sure has been a not normal Christmas Day. The most the cowardly Republicans do is drop out. It may be getting uncomfortable for them, but they have not shown an interest in saving our democracy or, significantly, the great harm being done by the president they attached themselves to.
Appreciate your tireless work Heather, especially taking the time to write this on Christmas night. As the orange menace feels more heat, he does seem to get further unhinged, judging by tonight’s posts.
There are indeed a lot of us with you, standing on the edge of sanity. And hopefully if we stand together long enough, someone in the silent cowardly morass of Republicans will have the guts to do what you’ve done - speak the truth.
So many readers and authors continue to say that every one of his ranting accusations are indeed confessions. I continue to have hope that the truth will some day lead to action and consequences to stop this madness.

I knew he couldn’t cede the stage for even one day, his broken brain and black heart must scream for attention at full volume, all the time. I did not, however, have bombing Nigeria to start a maniacal religious war on my bingo card. I hope to see us begin the reclaiming of America in 2026. Hi, have just read the ‘alternative Christmas address’ to the British audience in The Guardian. This traditional television slot this year was given by your very own, Jimmy Kimmel. It was delivered in his usual understated satirical style, but was very much tempered as an apology to our friends across the pond. As a response, I should like to stress to you guys that the vast majority over here share your horror and disgust of your current Oval abomination. We do follow events and are not taken in by the incessant lies that emanate from the present incumbent fascist regime. Our historic shared values and culture will not be tarnished by recent events. We sent nothing but warmth, love and an unwavering support to all those standing up to and on the receiving end of this unhinged, hateful administration. Keep the faith 🥰
As a Christian, I am sorry to admit that the conservative Christian world is ignoring all these disastrous events. I daily check out four or five of the leading Christian news sources and not a word of the wickedness and cruel behavior of the man they elected as president. The Christian Post, Christianity Today International, World, and others all have totally ignored this very important issue. In addition, not a word about the Palestine genocide situation either. Oh, but lots of Christmas ‘feel good’ stories for sure.
That is not just sad, tragic but a mistake. If bearing witness ceases to be a central pratcised tenet of Christianity not only it but all of us are in deep trouble. The concept of the right rule of law and is current manmade structures are the foundation rock upon which our democracies were founded and built.
