Trump just announced an “election integrity army” at the polls in November
On Mother’s Day, while millions of Americans were sharing love and gratitude with the women who raised them, the President of the United States locked himself inside the White House and spent the day rage-posting on social media. He attacked the media, blasted Supreme Court justices he personally appointed, threatened to “pack the court,” and then announced something that should alarm every American heading into November: an “election integrity army in every single state.”
He did not say who these people will be, how they will be deployed, whether they will be in uniform or plain clothes, or whether they will be armed. And that vagueness is the threat. Because we have seen this before. In 1981, the Republican National Committee deployed armed off-duty police and private security to polling places in Black and Latino neighborhoods in New Jersey, posting signs that read, “This area is being patrolled by the National Ballot Security Task Force.” The resulting lawsuit led to a federal consent decree that lasted 35 years. It expired in 2018, during Trump’s first term. By 2024, the RNC was deploying over 200,000 volunteers to battleground states, using the word “soldiers” to describe them. Armed men in tactical gear stood outside ballot drop boxes in Arizona. Police had to remove poll observers in Wisconsin who were challenging every absentee ballot. What Trump announced today is a scaled-up version of all of it, run from the White House and backed by presidential authority.
And on the same day, he threatened the Supreme Court justices he appointed for ruling against his tariffs. He noted that he recently became the first president to attend a Supreme Court session, then added that this “did not go unnoticed by the Court.” That was not a historical footnote. That was a message. The circle of acceptable loyalty is shrinking until eventually the only person inside it will be the man himself. And as the hours passed, he flooded his feed with memes glorifying himself, doctored images of Mount Rushmore with his face, and promotional posts for his ballroom. On a day meant to honor the selflessness of mothers, the president turned his platform into a shrine to himself. November is coming. And every single one of us has a role to play in stopping what is being built.

Not really news. He’s been talking about this for months. When you say it’s scary he loves it. I don’t think we should be scared, we should show up because it’s our right to do so. We should be angry, not scared.
And so it begins!! Hopefully there is energy for push back. Can’t be allowed!
