Trump is pulling off the biggest con job the world has ever seen
Will we let him do it?
The New York Times reported that the Justice Department is in active discussions about settling the President’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS, a settlement that would effectively have his own former personal defense attorney sign a multi-billion-dollar taxpayer check to him. And one of the options on the table is that the IRS would agree to drop all audits of Donald Trump, his sons, and the Trump Organization. Forever. The man who runs the executive branch is suing agencies he controls, with his former lawyers now running the Justice Department deciding how much he gets. Trump himself has told reporters, on camera, “I’m suing myself” and that he would “work out a settlement with myself.”
The case is so legally questionable that the federal judge handling it has already ordered both sides to explain why it shouldn’t be thrown out entirely, asking how the President can sue agencies that report to him. And that is exactly why the Justice Department is racing to settle before the May 20 deadline. If they settle privately before the judge rules, she cannot stop the money from changing hands. The payout would come from the Judgment Fund, a permanent pot of taxpayer dollars that requires no congressional approval. To put the $10 billion demand in perspective, the largest settlement the DOJ has ever paid under the Federal Tort Claims Act was roughly $138 million, split among 139 women abused by Larry Nassar. When hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin sued over the same tax return leak, he received zero dollars.
And while Trump prepares to extract billions from the Treasury, he has cut the IRS workforce by 25 percent, with 45 percent of the reductions coming specifically from the enforcement division that audits wealthy taxpayers. The Congressional Budget Office estimates those cuts will cost the government $65.8 billion in lost revenue over the next decade. The agency is being weakened so it can be drained, and the man draining it is the one who weakened it. But someone inside the Justice Department picked up the phone and called a reporter to make sure this deal could not be quietly finished in the dark. Career civil servants who took an oath to the Constitution, not to a man, are still in there. And every time one of them speaks, the regime loses a little more control over the story. November is coming.

And where are our legislators? Our legal eagles? Our judiciary? Have we fallen under his spell completely? He is literally romping over all of our systems and government with nary a concern because no one dares to stop him. Disgusting.
