In a moment of escalating tension like this, when a president should be the stabilizing force, the one bringing clarity, lowering tensions, and making it clear that every effort is being made to prevent further escalation and more chaos, Donald Trump once again defaulted to violence. When asked what happens if the ceasefire expires tomorrow evening, he said, "Then lots of bombs start going off."
Over here in the UK we feel so helpless about what is staring us in the face with this terrible Trump-led chaos in the Middle East. Every morning i read your brilliant analysis of what is really going on and thank heaven there are people like you with the guts and the knowledge to explain the reality of it all. Im sharing your work this side of the pond and praying the Democrats bring this monster down in the mid-terms. All power to you Heather, keep on doing this enormous public service.
Thank you Pippa for your support rather than a scolding! I feel like people from other countries don’t realize how little we can do right now to change our situation. Most of us are counting on the midterms to help escort this demented government out of the white house! We’re counting down the days! Until then we hope trump doesn’t do much more damage. I don’t know if you are the same Pippa we listen to each morning when we listen to Nicky and Pippa Gumble, but you have her heart! And we are deeply grateful for your prayers and concern. What is most remarkable to me is that those who seem most in prayer our side of the pond and praying to a god who loves the rich, those who distort justice as protecting the oppressors and not the oppressed, who want a government that is controlled by a few and the people who are supposed to be intimately in control are willingly and prayerfully handing each liberty and freedom over to a man who has no soul. Forgive us Pippa for the plague that we have elected and made each person on our planet vulnerable to.

I have been noticing that many things like ICE, the devastating cuts to human services, research, science and education have all but disappeared from mainstream news. It’s frightening. Anyone else notice that he said “if it ends” when questioned about the war and gas prices?
Thank you for your excellent opinion piece on what’s happening right now. Insider trading is a big concern. Trump‘s mental condition and his enablers are a bigger concern, but the power of the people still holds. Hallelujah to the veterans who protested in the Capitol. They did it for principle which comes from a life of service. We need to fight back with values of true integrity and grit. The Trump experiment is a failure for our country. “ Courage is contagious. Their act of resistance will inspire others still serving to find their courage.”
Loose lips sink ships….in trump world that is literally what is happening and he may be posting those late night diatribes but his young aides are feeding him the “ facts” that he spews which they get wrong because they don’t know or understand or care about history. They are the digital version of shock jocks…just throw out anything semi- related to truth ..costume it all up and hit SEND. He doesn’t care if he ruins anything..he’s ruined and destroyed so much in his past and just walked away..suffers no consequences or repercussions…look at what he did in his casino days. Now he’s doing it to the entire country and as long as he’s making fortunes he does not care. THAT is the truth we must face..we must deal with him with that truth foremost in our minds..he is a psychopath who needs to be dealt with as such..not someone who can be reasoned with..changed ..rehabilitated..or excused. The people who surround him who continue to enable him are accessories to his crimes…they will ignore his actions and give him free rein because they are benefiting both financially and with a power they never thought possible. For that ..and that alone ..they give him all the freedom he needs to continue his madness. Therein lies the Achilles Heel…..support the BBC and all others who are investigating who is benefiting financially every time he does or says ANYTHING..who gains from his erratic and consequential actions…cut them off ..send them to jail a la Martha Stewart and his support will shrink..if he’s no use to them..they don’t want to go down with him or for him…there is no honor among thieves….they’ll talk.
The Democrats must take the gloves off..stop pussyfooting around complaining and get proactive..demand transparency..investigate everything and everyone around him especially his relatives and his biggest sycophants which are all who surround him…they’re ALL in it up to their eyeballs. Look at what he’s about to do for the UAE…reimburse them for the chaos he created…wonder why them and no one else….FOLLOW THE MONEY.

OK since you brought her up I will say something about insider trading and Martha Stewart. You know that during the phase of proving she did it, it was pretty much decided she hadn't done it. But the FBI agent was so sure she had done something he persisted in his prosecution. And do you know who that agent was? James Comey! That's right. Mr. Comey likes bringing down powerful women, I guess. And why use Martha Stewart whose alleged crime was talking to her stockbroker about a $40K stock when some of these insider traders have brought down companies and ruffled financial markets with their crimes? Why not Stephen Buyer? He's a real pearl. What about Chris Collins? He's free and running for office again. Rajat Guta? Jeffrey Skilling? There are numerous others.
