Trump is demanding that his Department of Justice prosecute his political opponents out of revenge.
And he is posting it for the world to see.
Nothing about this is presidential.
It is dangerous and embarrassing.
Any other president would face impeachment and removal for even suggesting it.
Because every president before him understood one thing. The Department of Justice is not a political toy. It is not the president’s personal law firm. It is meant to serve the people, not one man.
Nixon tried to use it. He ordered his attorney general to fire the special prosecutor investigating Watergate. That night became known as the “Saturday Night Massacre.” And it cost Nixon his presidency. Because back then, even Republicans knew there was a line.
Trump has erased that line.
Tonight, on his own social media platform, the president published a rant directed at his allies. It read less like a statement and more like marching orders to his followers. In it, he demanded prosecutions of his political enemies, bragged about firing a U.S. attorney who would not play along, and insisted that “justice must be served” on his terms.
Here is what he wrote in full:
“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, “same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.” Then we almost put in a Democrat supported U.S. Attorney, in Virginia, with a really bad Republican past. A Woke RINO, who was never going to do his job. That’s why two of the worst Dem Senators PUSHED him so hard. He even lied to the media and said he quit, and that we had no case. No, I fired him, and there is a GREAT CASE, and many lawyers, and legal pundits, say so. Lindsey Halligan is a really good lawyer, and likes you, a lot. We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!! President DJT”
This is the sitting president of the United States. Naming opponents. Demanding prosecutions. Boasting about firing attorneys who would not serve him. Declaring justice must be served not as a promise to the people, but as a threat to his enemies.
That is not justice.
That is vengeance.
And it is authoritarianism, written in his own hand.
None of it is random. None of it is a coincidence. It is the plan.
Project 2025 laid out the blueprint. Purge the civil service. Stack agencies with loyalists. Put every lever of government at the disposal of one man.
It is the Heritage Foundation’s 900-page manual for how to dismantle democracy and rebuild government in the image of authoritarian rule. It spells out, step by step, how to strip protections from career civil servants, replace them with political loyalists, and weaponize the machinery of government against anyone who resists.
Trump pretended he did not know what Project 2025 was. But we are watching him execute it.
Look at the new 100,000 dollar annual fee on H-1B visas. These visas bring doctors to rural hospitals, engineers to research labs, skilled workers to tech companies. Last year alone, more than 130,000 H-1Bs were granted. Now imagine pricing every one of them out of reach.
Without them, hospitals lose staff. Startups lose engineers. Research grinds to a halt. Families go without care. Innovation slows. This is not about protecting American workers. It is about shutting America off from the world. It is isolation as policy. Weakness masquerading as strength.
Or look off the coast of Venezuela at the three fishing boats that have been destroyed and the people on board killed. There is no proof that the fishermen were cartel leaders, because they were not given trials or the opportunity to defend themselves. They were fishermen. Poor men surviving on less than 100 dollars a month. Feeding their families from the sea.
Their boats destroyed.
Their lives shattered.
International observers condemned the strike. Diplomats warned this was reckless, destabilizing, and cruel. Allies privately questioned whether they could keep standing with America if this continues.
That is not leadership. It is cruelty. And it tells the world that America is no longer the stabilizer. We are the destabilizer.
And the instability spreads. Russia just launched 40 missiles and nearly 600 drones at Ukraine. Civilians killed. Cities burning. Zelenskyy rushing to the UN, forced to beg Trump for support. But Trump has already made his direction clear. Retreat, pull back, abandon NATO, let Europe wobble.
History tells us what happens when Europe collapses. Twice last century, it dragged the world into war. America once stood as the steady hand. Now we are shaking the table.
Meanwhile, Trump just grabbed control of six of seven TikTok board seats in the United States.
It might have sounded like a good idea a year ago, but now with Trump in office, our government controlling TikTok is just state-run propaganda waiting to happen.
Because the board controls the algorithm. And the algorithm controls what 170 million Americans see every single day. A majority of them kids, teenagers, young adults.
The White House forced TikTok to restructure under threat of a ban. The result gave American appointees near-total control of its U.S. operations. That means Trump loyalists now oversee the teams that decide how the app works.
And here is why that matters.
TikTok is where your kids spend their time. It is where teenagers get their news, their music, their sense of what is normal. It shapes their politics before they even know they are forming them.
An algorithm is not neutral. It decides what you see first. What you see last. What you never see at all. It can make lies go viral. It can bury truth. It can tilt elections without a single commercial, without a single debate stage.
We have seen this in other countries. In China, platforms erase protests before people even learn they happened. In Russia, opposition voices get buried while propaganda surges to the top. In Myanmar, Facebook’s algorithm pushed hate speech until it fueled mass killings.
And now Trump has his hand on the wheel here.
Think about it. He already controls his own social platform, where MAGA lives in a closed loop of conspiracy. He already has Meta, with Mark Zuckerberg openly back in his corner. That means Facebook and Instagram lean his way too.
But TikTok is different. TikTok is where the next generation spends its time. Where your kids are. Where culture is made. Where attention lives.
And with a few tweaks, the algorithm can make Trump disinformation flood their feeds. It can make pro-democracy voices disappear. It can make propaganda look like entertainment.
Traditional media is visible. You can change the channel if you are being fed lies and disinformation.
Algorithms are invisible. Kids think they are just seeing what is popular. But they are not. They are seeing what someone wants them to see.
That makes algorithmic control more dangerous than state TV. Because it feels organic. It feels real. It feels like choice.
But it is not choice. It is indoctrination.
And this is how you shape a generation without them even realizing it.
Project 2025 said cultural control is as important as political control. Trump now has both.
And looming over it all is the shutdown.
The Senate rejected both parties’ funding bills. A shutdown on October 1 is almost certain.
What does that mean in practice?
800,000 federal workers furloughed or working without pay. Veterans cut off from disability checks. Military families waiting on pay that may not come. Millions losing SNAP benefits that put food on the table. National parks shuttered. Air traffic controllers forced to work without pay, raising safety risks.
Past shutdowns were bargaining chips. In 2013, Republicans forced a 16-day shutdown over Obamacare. In 2018, Trump triggered the longest shutdown in history, 35 days, over border wall funding. Both were political leverage. Ugly, but transactional.
This one is different.
Project 2025 calls government a cancer. And starving it is the cure. This shutdown is not a tactic. It is a strategy. It is sabotage disguised as governance. The goal is not compromise. It is collapse.
The costs are real. Billions lost in GDP. Families unable to pay rent. Communities losing income from closed parks and shuttered services. Every one of those ripple effects chips away at faith in government itself. And that is the point.
None of this is accident. None of it coincidence. This is intentional. This is the blueprint. And Trump is following it step by step.
But we are not without hope.
A federal judge just threw out Trump’s 15 billion dollar lawsuit against The New York Times. Called it improper, sloppy, more rant than law. The courts held the line. Truth still mattered.
And in California, lawmakers passed the No Secret Police Act. Banning law enforcement from wearing masks in most operations. A direct rebuke to Trump’s masked raids. No more faceless repression. No more hiding.
These cracks of light matter. They remind us not every institution is captured. Not every state bows. Not every judge breaks.
But the danger remains. Trump is demanding revenge prosecutions. He is destabilizing allies. He is shutting out workers. He is bombing fishermen. He is seizing control of what our children see online. And he is willing to shut down the government to get what he wants.
This is not normal. This is a warning.
This is not leadership. It is retribution.
This is not democracy. It is authoritarianism, standing right in front of us.
We have to collectively say this is it.
We will not accept another assault on our democracy.
We will not accept another attack on our freedom.
We will not accept another day of pretending this is normal.
I will see you tomorrow,
Heather

As you document this, it is clear what the next/worst step in this horrid plan is. i am sickened to the core, not for myself who has had a [fairly] good life. but for my children and most of all, my grandchildren. i have just deleted my FB account as a protest against Rump, and dont watch much tv. but i KNOW that the kids, as you say, are on social media all the time. how to convince them to disconnect...small chance. heartbroken here.
