Seated in a tall brown leather chair inside the Oval Office, with men and women packed in behind him, Donald Trump decided to use that moment to insult the presidents who came before him. While answering a question about Iran, the sitting president of the United States of America said this: "They dealt with some very stupid presidents. I have to say that. I'm embarrassed to say some very stupid people were sitting here."
Heather I just want to tell you that I read every single one of your daily updates. I even restack some. I am a 63 year old woman in the uk who has never previously been interested in American politics. Your work is so important and I want you to know that I am in awe of what you manage to achieve daily. I also want you to know that I am truly sorry for what Americans are going through at this time. Of course, the actions of Trump and his enablers are affecting the UK (and the rest of the world). This is plain to see in our prices. Every person is affected.
I can not plan a visit to the States because I believe I would be refused entry due to my social media posts and shares. I was in India in March and there were many restaurants closed because they could not buy the bottled gas to cook, so I have no idea how those business owners and staff were surviving and paying their bills. The actions of this band of unethical sociopaths are being felt worldwide.

It’s been happening since 2016 this nightmare- when you think it can’t get worse- yup it does. I thought on Jan. 6 when the Capitol was invaded by his followers and people died and were injured- it might be over and he would he held accountable- nope wrong again! It’s unbelievable! It’s a nightmare!
I don’t know how long this will last- hopefully in Novembers midterm elections the people will go to the polls and vote. Then we can start getting our Country back and reassure our Allies that we are back.

When they’re near each other for any length of time we take a picture- because it’s rare without hissing and tufts of hair flying.
Back to keeping abreast of the news and trying to sift thru the lies. We’ve stopped watching TV news and get our news online. We pass it along to others across the country- otherwise than that we are homebodies- puttering on our postage stamp front and back yards and read- since retirement we’ve been cooking together so that’s great- should of done that years ago- it was always I cooked - he cleaned! This 250 feet tall, “triumphal arch” is more than double the height of the Lincoln Memorial that obstructs the site line from what was well thought out over a century ago — “a straight line between the government, the president who founded it and the president credited with saving it”. This is an abomination of all our fallen whose resting place is Arlington Cemetery to the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial, two presidents that one the founder to the one who saved this nation to remain whole. It benefits nothing no significance other than a grotesque large arch that obstructs the view and meaning of our capital to appease a persons ego.

In the U.S. China meeting with Xi and Trump last year, the room included three women from America, one from China. This year, no women anywhere.

Thank you for your daily analysis. I’m a Brit and we’ve just returned from a few days in the USA - for a wedding. We love many (not all) things about your country and have travelled extensively there but the wedding was the only reason we would visit right now. And a wedding was not the time nor place to engage in political conversation but I was struck how life everywhere appeared to be carrying on, with no obvious signs of people being perturbed by what’s going on. Contrast with outside the USA where the situation is a regular topic of conversation and anger in our experience. On the upside we were heartened to turn on the tv to CNN late one night and see a commentator giving a very frank assessment of the war in Iran. Good to see that sort of criticism can still be accessed. I admire your work and dedication- thank you.

Thank you for your daily analysis. I’m a Brit and we’ve just returned from a few days in the USA - for a wedding. We love many (not all) things about your country and have travelled extensively there but the wedding was the only reason we would visit right now. And a wedding was not the time nor place to engage in political conversation but I was struck how life everywhere appeared to be carrying on, with no obvious signs of people being perturbed by what’s going on. Contrast with outside the USA where the situation is a regular topic of conversation and anger in our experience. On the upside we were heartened to turn on the tv to CNN late one night and see a commentator giving a very frank assessment of the war in Iran. Good to see that sort of criticism can still be accessed. I admire your work and dedication- thank you.

Yesterday my rethug Maga congress critter in WI 03 sent out an email newsletter with a headline about how rump is saving the country. Refuses to hold an in person town hall and is still desperate to curry rump's favor. This is the same guy who recently made an appearance with Bobby Brainworms. So infuriating.
Keep repeating..reminding..rebuffing..reiterating..reinforcing…
This is our truth..we’re well aware of who and what he is..of what he’s doing to OUR country..of how he’s destroying it for those who come after us ..of how he MUST BE STOPPED.
And after you do that…do it AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN until he IS stopped.
This is on us..we have the power….USE IT.
