"You're either crooked or you're stupid"
In an interview taped in a Wisconsin barn, the President of the United States completely lost control on camera. For more than 40 minutes, NBC’s Kristen Welker pressed him with fair, direct questions, and when she would not stop asking for evidence to support his false claims, he ripped off his microphone, stood up, stepped on it, and leaned into her face to keep berating her. “You’re either crooked or you’re stupid,” he told her. “A country can never be great with a dishonest press.” It was one of the most disastrous interviews of his political career. And it confirmed something deeper.
The interview unraveled the closer she got to the truth. He claimed he never promised no new wars, minutes after naming two of them himself, Venezuela and Iran. He described Iran’s new leader, a man who reportedly lost his father, mother, wife, and son in the strikes Trump ordered, as “rational” and “brave.” And when she calmly pointed out, again and again, that he had presented no evidence that the elections were rigged, his entire answer was, “All I have to do is look.” He could not answer the questions, so he attacked the person asking them.
And this is not just rhetoric anymore. The White House website now has an expanded “Media Offenders” section, with a rotating “Offender of the Week,” a “Hall of Shame,” and a form inviting the public to report journalists. They have a category called “Leftist Lunatics” listing independent voices, individuals, reader-supported, doing exactly the kind of work that holds power accountable. There is no charge, no trial, no law attached. The only purpose of putting a private citizen on a government enemies list is to mark them. The whole point is to make each name feel alone. So we do the opposite of what he wants. When he hands us a list of the voices he wants silenced, he hands us a list of the people worth supporting. There are far more of us than there are of them.

The medical term of what he had was a narcissistic implosion where a person with narcissistic personality disorder experiences (NPD) a fatal blow to their ego or self image and their defensive grandiosity. A normal narcissist would experience shame where someone with malignant narcissism would lash out with rage. A standard narcissist is primarily driven by ego a need for admiration and a lack of empathy. In contrast of malignant narcissism blends these traits with antisocial behavior, paranoia and active sadism meaning they derive actual pleasure from dominating and inflicting, emotional or physical pain on others.
Trump is obviously the latter.
Has ABC been corrupted as a trustworthy information source to the same extent as CBS and Bari Weiss?
