At 7:39 AM this morning, the President of the United States decided to attack an American Olympian on social media. While world leaders across the globe are sending well-wishes to their athletes and cheering them on, our president is calling our athletes losers.
These athletes have sacrificed for decades. Their families have put everything on the line so their loved ones could represent their countries on the world stage. They’ve paid the price, personally, financially, and physically, just to get here. Most world leaders recognize that. They show up with gratitude. They honor the moment. I am reading these posts from Uk and with family living in USA I am so very sad that you are all having such a scary horrid time. My question is where oh where is the political opposition. Please democrats show your metal and stand and defend and support .
I really admire the clarity of your writing, especially when dealung with such a complex issue. A really good recommendation is on my TODO list, but for now I hope a like and restack will do.
It makes me sad and angry but Trump has ruined the Olympics for me. I love our athletes but am not watching because I am so down on our country and just won't give a beholden tv network the ratings with their "jingoistic" coverage. Trump, the Epstein cabal, tech oligarchs and MAGA have me too angry to watch and root for the good old USA. That country is gone. Hopefully we can build back something great, starting with the midterms and accountability for those responsible.
Trump embarrasses our whole country and our people every day. Whatever it is, if it does not praise him, then it is worthless in his eyes. What a pitiful human being.
I just sent Trump an email telling him to stop spewing diarrhea from him mouth and put a zipper on it if he can’t say anything nice. This was in direct response to his attacking our Olympic skiers.
I have NEVER hated a person (Donald Trump) so much in my whole life. But, the halftime show was a slap in the face to Americans. Awful. To me, the only good part, was Bad Bunny giving his Grammy to Liam.
I just found out on Politifact, that is was a child actor NOT Liam who received the Grammy during Bad Bunny's performance. Also the singer did not wear a dress and burn the American Flag (A.I.). Geez...
In the early 1990s, my girlfriend and I took a cross country trip from California to Virginia on her Harley 85 wide glide. It took us 11 days. We either camped or stayed at a hotel. We looked a lot like the Beverly hillbillies. The Harley loaded down, and me sitting on a white pillow for my back. Obviously nobody bothered us.
We always found the best restaurants.
What struck me most about the trip, which is was one of the best I’ve ever had, was the subtle changes in temperature and smells. It was an experience like no other. undefinable, but palpable.
