Amazing reporting Heather - also amazing is the level of insider clarity here.

Even as numb as I’ve become to the constant stream of vile behavior, incompetence, and general stupidity, tonight’s insight is stunning.

But the biggest questions still loom like an insurmountable wall in front of us:

Will this actually gain traction and get reported by mainstream media?

And will any Republican find the courage to work for us instead of themselves?

Daniel Shim's avatar

If by "mainstream media" you mean that Bari Weiss/David Ellison corrupted bastions of what used to be pillars of journalistic integrity quickly turned into Circus Clown in Chief's bullshit spewing propaganda machine, the answer to your first question is "not a chance."

And if chickensh*t Republicans haven't grown a backbone by now, "of course not."

My question: when does this Maggie Haberman/Jonathan Swan book come out?

Thank you, Ms. Reese. What haunts me is the caliber of person, particularly women, who are willing to provide cover for djt. wiles looks like a grandmother and she is dedicating her twilight years to providing cover for pedophiles and she is taking a paycheck from the most famous pedophile in history. The depravity of the women in this administration is just devastating to humanity.

Thank you Heather these are but three of our headlines of the day of a tsunami of information. From the behavior of him at the G7, Iran declaring victory and being evermore emboldened, taxpayers footing the bill of a Versailles ballroom to a tune of $300 million, workers pouring gallons of hydrogen peroxide into the reflecting pool to try to kill the algae that the $14 million of taxpayers dollars caused it to generate more algae, and so much more…

Since day one from January 20, 2025 to today and beyond until he’s either removed or that Congress is flipped as you so eloquently put it.. “…This government operates with three main objectives. Protect the president at all costs. Move all the power and money to the top. Take the money from the taxpayers and funnel it to Trump, his family, and his enablers.” It’s always has been and will be the objectives…

It’s only Wednesday….

TJ ~ it’s too much isn’t it? Just a few stories from your post would have been an explosion a decade ago! Now… it’s a headline and then lies about headline and it just starts multiplying like the algae in the 14 million dollar reno ! I’m just reading and trying to ration what I read for my stress level! It’s going to be interesting until the midterms- I hope that all Americans vote their way out of this mess 🤞

How does it make sense that a Hitler sympathizer and anti-semite would want to kill trump and his supporters (UFC attendees)? I trust the reporting of Delanian and Loennig, but something smells rotten here. What am I missing?

You are missing the last ten years where these young men and boys have been radicalized by going deeper and deeper into the sewer that is social media platforms. You were living your life and they were sitting in the dark learning to deeply hate Jews, blacks and women while at the same time learning to love violence. Period.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Nope. I've already seen and read more than enough of social media's ills, and honestly, many adults don't fare much better with the brain-bending rabbit holes. I was really hoping that someone would address the first question in my above post, though!

Heather the amount of information in your post is mind boggling and difficult to process. I had no idea about the secret meeting in the Situation Room about the payments to FBI staff. This, of, course, points to one thing - protecting the Dumpkof's name. Roll on November elections.

I saw the footage of Trump at the G7 talks. He could hardly shake hands with President Macron and didn't even look at him face to face and had his eyes half closed. That says it all really

I have seen all that news in other substack columns yesterday, this is a repeat but I doom scroll too much!

I know Pam- I do the same thing! I’m going on Libby to put this new book on my holds list!

Is there a pun in there?

Outstanding work, Heather. Thank you.

As we learned from the Nixon debacle: It’s not the crime. It’s the cover-up that blows up corrupt governments. Reporting like yours and that of the few remaining honest journalists in the MSM are the fuse.

Boom!

We need our version of Deep Throat…somebody please have the intestinal fortitude to speak and leak.

On another front…yesterday as the country is trying to figure out what EXACTLY is going on with the war in Iran…as inflation ticks higher and costs go up..our makeup laden VP went on a daytime talk show plugging his book.

The show he chose to debut on. ..The View ..is notorious for being anti administration..Trump is having them investigated and threatens ABC constantly about them yet Vance thought he could go on and charm them and their live audience!

Wrong. Those women should be conducting master classes for all journalists on how to ask questions and DEMAND answers. He squirmed..he hedged..he side stepped..he spun..all to no avail..they called him out politely each time and brought him back to the topic. He even remarked at one point…” hey..I’m just here to sell my book” when the questions got impossible for him to run from. THAT is how to handle these dodgers and he knew he was failing.

The arrogance of him hawking a book about finding religion amid everything that he is an integral part of is mind blowing in it’s hypocrisy but also illuminates perfectly who and what they are…they don’t want to talk about or hear about the problems or plights of the people who they were elected and are being paid to represent..they want only to fatten their own wallets and skip happily through their own lives..the rest of us be damned.

Don’t let them succeed…show them who’s boss November 3rd.

I’m still stuck on being concerned that the voting machines will be rigged.

The problem with building an organization of scoundrels is that their loyalty is based on no firmer foundation than self interest. When the proverbial ship begins to take on water, they will run in a squeaking horde to the tilting rails, hoping to be among the first to jump over the side, and they will not care how many fellow rats they trample in the process. Wait for it. It will happen - it always does - and when it does, it will be something to see!

Waiting. And further, with known grift like this, it spreads. As it spreads, it becomes more difficult to control and contain.

It is inconceivable to me that in these secret meetings and amidst all this skulduggery, the subject of 25th amendment problem-solving did not come up. Vance convening a secret meeting in the Situation Room and all they discussed was Epstein management? Why were Bondi and Patel not there—schedule conflicts? Important other business? What other secret meetings have there been, with or without the leakers? Please. Oh, what tangled webs we weave, when first we practice to deceive.

The “plot” to disrupt the UFC event has got to be made up to bolster their attacks on us - on “Antifa”. Why the hell would “Nazi sympathizers” attack their own people at the UFC fight?! That smacks of a set up.

Was the UFC sniper/evacuation plot intended to be the regime’s Reichstag fire?

First of all, no dogs like Twump because they instinctively know he is a dog hater. Of all of Twump's faults and failures, hating dogs is a symptom of his cruelty and disinterest in the wellbeing of others.

Second, good wrap up of a busy news day. Back in the day, any one of these stories would be covered by a huge team of reporters from each big city newspapers and the wire services. Now, they are stretched so thin on the flood of stories that we rely on you and other indies to fill in the cracks. Also, such a big day that the poor Department of Education, well, at least the physically and mentally disabled along with the victims of civil rights abuses, have been disappeared into other agencies where, I am sure, they will be treated like the redheaded stepchild.
