At home, the administration gutted the childhood vaccine schedule and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting voted to officially dissolve, cutting off trusted news to millions. These are not isolated events. They follow a global pattern: seize control abroad, silence dissent at home, and break public trust in science, media, and government to lock in power.

This article hit home for me. I don’t know how to act and I continue to ask the questions, “is this really happening here?” As an amateur history student of WW2 I see the links in actions that are currently being implemented. My fear for this country is palatable. I firmly believe that the GOP is gone. Only a few of them do anything to push back. Not sure that Democrats can do much on Capitol Hill. So we, the people, must continue to fight on. We cannot hope that someone else does the work. We must do the work to save our country, otherwise our children and grandchildren will never know democracy.
This is the end of the Post WWII international order. Trump and his followers have shifted the United States from a defender of democracy and peace into a fascist, rogue and thug state. Given our size, economic and military power, there is nothing the world will do to stop him. My guess is that the U.N. will go the way of the League of Nations, NATO will disband and ultimately (it may take some time) there will be global conflict. We have to realize that United States democracy has fallen. Nothing will stop Trump now.
