The President Is Building an Army of Criminals
and Prosecuting Patriots
At 9:46 p.m. tonight, the President of the United States posted a sentence on Truth Social that made no sense. It read only, “Just in: Documents show conclusively that Christopher Wray, Meryl Garland, Lisa,” and appeared to stop mid-thought, or perhaps lacked the dexterity for a complete copy-and-paste.
Nearly half an hour later, at 10:11 p.m., he posted again, this time a full paragraph accusing FBI Director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, and “Deranged Jack Smith” of spying on senators and members of Congress, rigging the 2020 election, and committing “highly unethical behavior,” while calling for the “Radical Left Lunatics” to be prosecuted.
Here is his complete post: “Just in: Documents show conclusively that Christopher Wray, Deranged Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, Lisa Monaco, and other crooked lowlifes from the failed Biden Administration, signed off on Operation Arctic Frost. They spied on Senators and Congressmen/women, and even taped their calls. They cheated and rigged the 2020 Presidential Election. These Radical Left Lunatics should be prosecuted for their illegal and highly unethical behavior!”
It wasn’t just the content that was alarming. It was the obsession. Nearly five years later, the sitting president is still fixated on an election he lost, still chasing ghosts of his own defeat, still living in a reality where vengeance has replaced leadership. And not only can he not stop obsessing, he is on a path to round up anyone he believes has harmed him and make them pay, at best, and I say this tongue-in-cheek, by bankrupting them with legal fees, and at worst, by having them convicted of crimes. I shudder to think what he does with them in either scenario. Because for Trump, this doesn’t end with prosecution; he wants them to feel as humiliated as he did when he lost.
There is no limit to the depths he will go to make them feel that pain. I get a pit in my stomach just thinking about how long his enemies’ list is, and how many new names are added to it every day. We are only ten months into his four-year term, and he’s wasting no time going after his “most wanted.” But as he works through these, we have to stop and wonder: who’s next? And will this make others topple and stop standing against him? Because as much as this is about him making those he believes wronged him pay for their “sins,” it’s also a warning to everyone else: if you don’t bow to his demands and never speak against him, you will be next.
And this wasn’t even the first stop on his retribution tour today. Earlier this morning, to deflect from his own scandal, tearing down the East Wing of the White House, the official White House website quietly added entries to its “Major Events Timeline.” At first glance, it looks innocent enough: a section about rebuilding the White House after the War of 1812. But then you see exactly where our unhinged president couldn’t help himself, where his rage, his need to distract from incompetence, and his thirst for retribution took hold.
He added sections to the timeline labeled “Bill Clinton Scandal,” featuring a photo of President Clinton and Monica Lewinsky; “Muslim Brotherhood Visit,” with a photo of President Obama; and “Cocaine Discovered,” paired with an image of President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, appearing to be naked in a bathtub, a cigarette dangling from his mouth as he lay passed out.
After that, there’s another section titled “Trans Day of Visibility,” showing President Biden alongside a topless guest covering their chest with their hands.
How many nights in a row am I going to be forced to say that this behavior is coming from the President of the United States, and that I can’t believe I’m typing this out and it’s not a joke? How can we pretend to be a nation in “good hands” when we have unserious and dangerously unstable people leading us? No wonder the rest of the world’s leaders aren’t just laughing at us, some are mourning the death of America. And can we blame them?
This is now our official U.S. government history, rewritten by the same man who once declared himself the victim of the “greatest witch hunt in American history.” Gone are references to the classified documents he hoarded, the coup he incited, or the people who died defending the Capitol. In their place are paragraphs attacking Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and anyone who ever investigated Trump’s wrongdoing.
And while he rewrites the past, he’s building an army of criminals to protect his future. The Department of Justice used to be separate from the White House. It had to be. That’s how democracy survives, when the people who enforce the law aren’t taking orders from the person in power. When prosecutors follow evidence, not enemies lists. When justice means something more than revenge.
But under Trump, that line has vanished. His handpicked Attorney General, Pam Bondi, now serves more as a political enforcer than as the nation’s top prosecutor. A post he made a month ago on Truth Social, one that appeared to have been meant as a private message to Pam, shows exactly what is happening behind the scenes:
“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, ‘same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.’ Then we almost put in a Democrat supported U.S. Attorney, in Virginia, with a really bad Republican past. A Woke RINO, who was never going to do his job. That’s why two of the worst Dem Senators PUSHED him so hard. He even lied to the media and said he quit, and that we had no case. No, I fired him, and there is a GREAT CASE, and many lawyers, and legal pundits, say so. Lindsey Halligan is a really good lawyer, and likes you, a lot. We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!! President DJT”
This is what justice looks like now, a president who cares more about his ego than the law, ranting on social media about wanting his enemies “dealt with,” and fast.
Since the 1970s, after Watergate, when Nixon tried to order prosecutions of his political opponents, the United States has upheld strict norms to limit White House influence over the Department of Justice. The Supreme Court’s decision in United States v. Nixon (1974) rejected Nixon’s claim of absolute executive privilege and made clear that the president is not above the law, a defining moment that helped establish guardrails around executive power. For nearly fifty years, those boundaries held because we understood what happens when presidents treat justice like a weapon. But last year’s Supreme Court ruling granting Trump broad immunity for “official acts” shattered that protection. He now stands above the law, untouchable and unchecked, and we are back in dangerous territory, led by a man who has no respect for the DOJ, the rule of law, or the limits of his own power.
And while he weaponizes the DOJ, he’s silencing the people who tried to hold him accountable. Jack Smith, the special counsel who spent years investigating Trump’s efforts to overturn the election and steal classified documents, has asked Congress for permission to testify publicly. According to congressional aides, Smith submitted the request last week after new restrictions were placed on what he can disclose from historical earlier investigations.
It’s the best move Jack has left, a way to tell the American people what he found, what the evidence showed, and what actually happened. In the America we used to know, that testimony might have already happened. But in Trump’s corrupt America, I doubt they’ll allow it. Because the last thing Trump wants is for Americans to hear the truth from the man who knows it best.
But we have to stop and wonder: would Trump’s cult followers even care? We would. We’d shout it from the highest bridge if Jack proved that Trump instigated the insurrection, but like most news that surfaces these days, this too will likely be dismissed, twisted, or buried.
Jack Smith wants to speak. Trump wants him silenced. That tells you everything you need to know about who’s afraid of the truth.
This is what authoritarians do. They don’t just corrupt the present. They erase the past. They turn truth into lies and lies into history. They make investigating corruption the real corruption. Orwell warned us about this. “Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.” And right now, Trump controls the present, and he’s using it to rewrite everything.
But that was before. Before a president decided that everyone who ever stood up to him deserved to be destroyed. Before he turned the DOJ into his personal hit squad.
And while he’s hunting down patriots, you know who he’s setting free? George Santos. The man who lied about everything, his mother dying on 9/11, his grandmother surviving the Holocaust, his entire résumé. Who stole from dying dogs’ GoFundMe pages. Pardoned.
The January 6th insurrectionists. The ones who beat police officers with American flags. Who smeared feces on the Capitol walls. Who chanted “Hang Mike Pence.” All pardoned. Every last one. And that was one of his first presidential acts.
And now? Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance. According to the 2023 Justice Department plea agreement in United States v. Binance Holdings Ltd., his company failed to prevent $900 million in transactions involving sanctioned regimes and groups, including al-Qaeda affiliates. Nine hundred million dollars. To actual terrorists. The ones who actually kill Americans.
He paid a $50 million fine, pocket change for a billionaire. His company reached a $4.3 billion settlement, one of the largest corporate criminal resolutions in American history. Then Trump pardoned him. Why? Because Zhao’s company later became an investor in World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture linked to the Trump family.
So while Trump screams about “Antifa”, a made-up domestic terrorist organization that exists mainly in his fever dreams, he’s pardoning someone whose company processed nearly a billion dollars for al-Qaeda. Actual terrorists. The ones who flew planes into buildings. The ones our soldiers died fighting.
This tells the world that in Trump’s America, you can fund terrorism, commit crimes, and not follow the law as long as you fund Trump. Most would say this is bribery, plain and simple.
And mark my words, Sean Combs will be next. Then Ghislaine Maxwell. But not yet. Not until he doesn’t need leverage over her anymore. Not until she can’t talk about what she knows. That’s how this works: hold the pardon over their heads until you’re sure they’ll stay silent forever.
This is the pattern. This is the plan. And we need to see it for what it is.
He’s not just corrupting justice. He’s inverting it, building an army of the guilty while prosecuting the innocent. Creating a world where loyalty to him matters more than loyalty to the country. Where crimes are forgiven if you’re useful, and innocence is irrelevant if you’re in his way.
I keep thinking about that phrase we all learned as kids: “Justice is blind.” We’d see that statue, Lady Justice with her blindfold, holding scales. It meant something. It meant that justice didn’t care who you were, how much money you had, who you knew. The law was the law.
But now? Now justice peeks under the blindfold to check your voter registration. Now Lady Justice wears a MAGA hat.
This is what we’ve become. And the cruelest part? He knows exactly what he’s doing.
Each pardon is strategic. The con artists like Santos? They’re his mouthpieces, his propagandists. They know how the grift works because they’ve lived it. The January 6ers? They’re his foot soldiers. Point them at a target, the Capitol, a poll worker, a neighbor who put up the wrong yard sign, and they’ll attack. No questions asked.
The crypto criminals he’s pardoning, the ones with documented ties to al-Qaeda, are his financiers. They know how to move money in the shadows, how to fund operations that can’t see daylight. Legal, illegal, doesn’t matter as long as the checks clear.
He’s assembling something. Not a cabinet. Not an administration. An army. An army of people who owe him everything. Who know he’s the only thing standing between them and a prison cell. Who will do anything, absolutely anything, to keep him happy.
And on the other side? The people who believed in the rule of law. Who thought their oath to the Constitution meant something. Who did their jobs even when it was hard, even when it was dangerous. They’re the enemies now. They’re the ones being investigated, prosecuted, destroyed.
And the scariest part of corruption is that it doesn’t stay still. It doesn’t just corrupt the people at the top. It corrupts everything. Every inspector who might find a violation. Every prosecutor who might pursue a case. Every clerk who might file a report. They all have to wonder now: is doing the right thing worth becoming the next target?
We’ve been here before. Andrew Jackson defied the Supreme Court in the 1830s. Nixon’s Saturday Night Massacre in 1973. Each time, the survival of the system depended on whether other institutions pushed back or stayed silent. American history shows how fragile these boundaries can be; global history shows what happens when they finally break. Around the world, we’ve watched this playbook. Hungary’s Viktor Orbán reshaped trade and justice to reward allies. Turkey’s Erdoğan used economic retaliation and selective prosecutions to consolidate power. The mechanics are identical, use the state to punish opposition and profit the loyal.
And the MAGA faithful? They cheer it on. They flood the comments sections, the social media posts, screaming about the “Biden crime family” and “liberal corruption” while their leader literally pardons people who funded terrorists. They’ve been trained not to see the irony, not to question why the people who tried to overthrow the government are heroes while the people who protected it are villains.
But here’s what I keep coming back to: they know. Deep down, they know. That’s why they get so angry when you point out the truth. That’s why they lash out with “TDS” and “libtard” and all their tired insults. Because the truth hurts. And the truth is this: they chose a con man over their country. They chose lies over law. They chose him over America.
But we can’t give up. We can’t let this become normal. Every time they investigate a patriot, we have to remember who they’re pardoning. Every time they scream about law and order, we have to point to the criminals they’re setting free. Every time they wrap themselves in the flag, we have to remind them who actually defended it.
History shows that no democracy collapses overnight. It erodes law by law, pardon by pardon, until accountability feels optional. Until doing your job becomes dangerous and funding terrorism becomes forgivable, as long as you pick the right side.
And when this fever finally breaks, when the cult finally crumbles, when Americans remember what America is supposed to be, we’re going to have a choice. We can do what they’re doing now. We can make our own enemies list. We can pursue our own revenge. Or we can actually restore justice. Real justice. The kind that doesn’t peek under the blindfold. The kind that weighs evidence, not loyalty. The kind that protects the innocent and punishes the guilty, no matter who they are or who they know.
Every republic that survived moments like this did so because ordinary people refused to surrender the idea of equal justice, even when their leaders abandoned it. I know which one I choose. I choose the America where doing your job doesn’t make you a criminal. Where telling the truth doesn’t make you an enemy. Where funding al-Qaeda doesn’t get you a pardon just because you invested in the president’s crypto scheme.
That America still exists. It lives in every prosecutor who refuses to file false charges. In every judge who follows the law instead of the leader. In every citizen who speaks truth to power even when power punishes truth.
We are still here. We still remember. And we’re not going anywhere.
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Heather
