Late last night, while the sky was still dark and most Americans were asleep in their beds, the President of the United States was wide awake inside the White House, giving a telephone interview to an obscure far-right media personality and conspiracy theorist. The conversation happened sometime after midnight with Wayne Allyn Root, a Las Vegas-based Trump loyalist who hosts a show on Real America's Voice. They spoke for 42 minutes on a wide range of subjects, but perhaps the most dangerous moment came when Root suggested that Trump declare a "national security emergency" within the next month ahead of the midterm elections. Not only did Donald Trump not push back, or flat out say no. He instead said, "Let me just say, stranger things have happened. I'll leave it at that." The President of the United States would not say that he wouldn't interfere in the elections less than three months away.
Heather, the part of your post that sent a chill down my spine was the suggestion that the National Guard could be used to monitor the November mid elections. Why should there be an issue about people going along to cast their votes? I believe Trump knows there is a danger that he could lose the mid terms so he is creating havoc where there is no danger at all. Shades of Adolf.
A desperate trump is a dangerous trump, whose weapons are yet unknown. There is no limit to the brutal imagination being conjured up by this man and his enablers. So we the people must have the awareness and courage of the fearless African elephant who is not only smart but protects his herd with his herd. United we stand, divided we fall.
So, Heather, looking at the worst case scenario, what happens if he does declare a national emergency? Can it be nullified in the courts in order to ensure free and fair elections in November? Or will it cause delays or the cancellation of the elections? Also, what would be the justification he used to do it? Foreign interference? Elon Musk buying votes? Too many unregistered voters?
On the one hand we have a raving lunatic holding a powerful position but in his own bubble of insanity, fantasizing out loud that the real world could be bent to conform to his insane imagination, On the other hand is the huge objective world with stirrings of resistance to its projected distortion. Between the two are his self-seeking sycophantic enablers (Blanche, Miller, et al.), a hard core of true believers whom he is grooming as potential tools, a far larger populace whose upcoming decisions and actions, backed by traditional institutions and practices, could potentially be decisive; and mediating between them are journalists working to describe what is an existential crisis for us all, but being forced to mediate and keep score until the dénouement arrives. They can, but should they if they want to be influential, take sides as we move along? Heather is in an inviable but perhaps necessary position, with our sympathy, support and deep thanks..
This is like a slow-motion train wreck. The loco is about to leave the tracks, the carriages are zigzagging everywhere, and guard in the the caboose is ringing his mum. I hope she picks up.
There is an intelligent design for humanity. Trump is not part of that design. Every one around the world must BELIEVE that Trump is going down. Mark 11:24

Heather, as always, thank you. I so enjoyed your interview of Hunter Biden. And I will continue to pray for President Biden. 🙏

He will declare it... the only for them all to stay in power... oops!
