The legal destruction of FAIR elections with the Make Elections Great Again Act

Donald Trump’s late-night spiral included a flood of Truth Social posts packed with conspiracy theories, false election claims, AI-manipulated attacks, and open threats against his enemies, showing a president driven by grievance and an increasing disconnect from reality.

His administration has backed that behavior with real abuses of power, including a federal raid on Georgia’s elections office to seize already certified 2020 ballots, the misuse of intelligence leadership in domestic election matters, and a push to take federal control of elections through the “Make Elections Great Again Act,” which would restrict voting and intimidate local officials.

Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS and Treasury fits a broader pattern of using government power for personal gain. Mirroring past authoritarian collapses, democracy is being hollowed out through law, fear, and exhaustion, and only sustained public resistance can stop the slide and protect the country’s future.
