Trump is using fear and lies about ICE and Minnesota to justify cruelty and push the country closer to authoritarian rule.
His language is meant to make people feel under attack and to position himself as the only one who can fix it. For many of his supporters, identity and belonging matter more than facts.
Congress is the only real check on Trump, which is why the midterms matter so much.
And America’s instability isn’t contained within our borders; this chaos is affecting the rest of the world and directly benefits Putin.
I’ll now be sharing video versions of my nightly posts in addition to the written ones. We are living through a pivotal moment for our country, and my goal is to reach as many people as possible with clear, factual information about what is happening. The more people who understand what is unfolding, the better chance we have to push back against chaos, cruelty, and corruption ahead of the midterms.

Heather this is a Constititionally sound and legal solution to what has felt like an intractable problem. We just cannot assume that with a regime that follows the Rule of Power instead of the Rule of laws, that any previous norms or decisions will adhere to past midterm elections.
I have been obsessed with the need to PROTECT THE MIDTERMS. I I have yet to hear anyone in power saying anything - aside from Trump&Co. or Marc Elias - one word about the critical need to PROTECT THE MIDTERMS. It seems as if they are still in a pre-trumpian universe where midterms happen, the winners are certified, and then they are then seated in their respective congressional seats.
We need to make the potential cancelation or disruption of the 2026 midterms jump to the top of the list of concerns in a seemingly ever expanding list.
