At 3:54 pm, with Marine One’s engine roaring behind him, Donald Trump walked out of the White House and began yelling about the stone beneath his feet. For the next 6 minutes and 52 seconds, we watched him struggle to answer questions and follow the conversation. Asked about a possible third impeachment, he joked that he was “getting good at it,” then claimed he could have impeached Hillary Clinton. Private citizens cannot be impeached. Whether he confused impeachment with criminal prosecution or simply lost track of the question, either possibility is deeply concerning. Moments after telling voters to “pretend I’m running,” he turned toward the construction site and became fixated on a crane. The entire world is at risk with him in the Oval Office. What we are watching cannot be normalized.
When a reporter told him South Korea said it had never signed the Alaska pipeline agreement, Trump’s answer was to threaten one of our most important allies. “Tell them if they don’t sign shortly, I’m going to double it up.” The President of the United States was asking a reporter to deliver a threat to a sovereign nation. Reporters report the news. They do not negotiate between countries. He also waved away his threatened diesel export ban after frightening European families who depend on fuel to make it through winter. Basic human needs have become bargaining chips. Then, asked about Letitia James investigating the Cornell University rape case, he said he felt bad for whoever she was investigating. His sympathy was for the accused men, with nothing about the woman who came forward. His administration keeps trying to sell the appearance of strength and continuity, even as we watch him drift, struggle, and insist he never gets tired. The people enabling him are buying time and preparing for what comes next.
With 32 days until the midterms, Trump is right about one thing: we should pretend he is running, because his unchecked power is on the ballot. We are voting for hearings, investigations, oversight, and accountability, and to begin repairing the relationships he has shattered around the world. A blue wave could even open a path to impeachment and removal. None of this is guaranteed, and nobody can afford to get comfortable. Even when we take back the House, and possibly the Senate, he will not go quietly. The people already parading J.D. Vance across the country have their own power to protect. We need to protect access to the vote, protect the count, and prepare for the fight to ensure the new Congress is seated. This country belongs to us, not Trump, and we have to be ready to reclaim our power.

We are living through a pivotal moment for our country, and my goal is to reach as many people as possible with clear, factual information about what is happening. The more people who understand what is unfolding, the better our chances of pushing back against chaos, cruelty, and corruption ahead of the midterms.
