Pete Hegseth calls Trump’s war “a gift to the world”
Pete Hegseth stood at the Pentagon podium and called the war in Iran, the global instability, and the surging fuel prices that came with it “a gift to the world.” He compared Operation Epic Fury favorably to every major American military engagement of the last century and said the U.S. military deserves the Nobel Peace Prize “every single year.” He told European allies to stop having “fancy conferences” and “get in a boat.”
We are on day 56 of a war that was supposed to last four to six weeks. A war never authorized by Congress, costing a reported billion dollars a day. Their own CIA said there was no immediate nuclear threat. Their own Director of National Intelligence testified under oath that Iran had not rebuilt its nuclear enrichment capability. And still, no one in this administration can tell us what we are actually trying to achieve or what winning looks like. Another aircraft carrier is joining the operation. Sailors on extended deployments are reportedly eating rations because the supply situation is inadequate. And the head of the International Energy Agency warned last week that Europe may have as little as six weeks of jet fuel remaining because of the energy crisis this war created.
