Norway here. Thank you for your work. I need to read your blog to be reassured that there still are sane people in your country, it matters to the whole world in my opinion.

Indeed!! Please know “the sane people” in America vastly out-number the MAGA crazies!!!! We will continue to stand for the America the world knows and appreciates….not this cheap, gold-plated, untrustworthy version T-rump is parading before the eyes of the world!

Thank you so very much for having some faith that there are still many sane people in this country. It can be difficult for to remain so. People like you; outside of this country who have not written us off, give us another level of hope burgeoning on confidence. 🩵

Heather, I had never heard about the raid on the Washington Post journalist's home. This is appalling and an attack on a free press. Shades of Hitler's Germany.

I am older than Trump and it's my dearest wish that the orange buffoon is either impeached, disgraced and removed because of his dementia. I can't stand seeing him on TV, hate that voice, his orange make-up and the absolute rubbish he spouts. And I'm not even American. His maternal grandparents would be ashamed of his behaviour. They were good hardworking people.

Follow Legal AF from the MeidasTouch network. They are on this and most other platforms. That’s where I learned about Hannah Natanson being raided etc. They are lawyers from both prosecution and defense areas. They’re very good at keeping us up to date on so much of the legal battles going on , including the SCOTUS. Check them out my friend. 🩵

Thanks for all that you do, Heather. I read your posts every day, and it’s an important part of staying grounded for me. I appreciate your integrity and your guts. Wishing you peaceful sleep each night.

"Kind sir"??? Really? You need to check your morals lady.

Australia here, what awful stuff. Love your posts, accuracy and dedication. Stay safe, stay strong

Thank you and thanks to the courageous journalists who believe in the truth and seek to share it with us, their fellow citizens.

(*sigh *) another sleepless night. But articles like this help me through my exhaustion. Thank you Heather. My resistance consists of volunteering at a soup kitchen and attending small standing protests twice a week. It's all I can do. I am grateful for those, like you, Heather, who can do more.

Thank you for your acts of resistance. No matter what we can do, it all adds up. We will overcome this monstrous regime. I am so grateful for journalists and our courts right now. They are key to maintaining our democracy the way it's written in the Constitution.

This administration is in fact a terror state of:

- CINOs [Christians in name only): They are ready to throw the follower of Jesus, head of 1.4 billion believers and head of the Holy Appostolic Catholic Church under the bus, because he confronts their war intensions.

- PINOs [Patriots in name only]: Because what they do is as unAmerican as can be; they want Trump to be a King, and everything shall follow his will.

I feel conflicted about the Washington Post. We unsubscribed, with thousandss of others, when they (he) yanked the endorsement of Kamala. But, Natanson & the journalists.

Katy Bolger's avatar

Good for you, I did as well unsubscribe to the Washington Post. Right now, I am untangling myself from anything with Bezos name on it: Prime and Amazon. Bezos is like cigarettes, you are sold a pack and then you are hooked and keep buying something you know is bad for you. Well, I quit cigarettes decades ago, and other bad habits as well. Bezos is a bad habit one must get rid of. Life is more tasty when you are not putting money in that jerk's pocket or that of his blow-up-doll wife.

Diana's avatar

I am conflicted as well- there are many things on Amazon we can’t get - so I order again! ♥️

Diana, I believe we are have been hoodwinked. The OGs of killing small stores in America, Walmart, is actually looking like the better choice (and there are others). I go on Walmart's website and they seem to have anything you want there. You can pick up in the store or they deliver - sometimes the same day. I know the Waltons were the original evildoers, but then along came Bezos and quadrupled their villainy. Once we quit, we will find other sources for the stuff we must have right now, right away without leaving the sofa.

From Wikipedia: The Walton family, founders of Walmart, are major philanthropists, primarily donating through the Walton Family Foundation. The foundation distributes over $500 million annually, focusing on K-12 education reform, environmental conservation (freshwater and marine), and developing Northwest Arkansas. Key members also make large personal donations, including Alice Walton’s significant art donations and Jim Walton’s major stock gifts.

From Yahoo Finacial: Bezos has stated his intention to give away the majority of his wealth during his lifetime, focusing on long-term, "leveraged" solutions to global problems. His donations have sometimes drawn scrutiny regarding tax advantages. It is important to distinguish his philanthropy from that of his former wife, MacKenzie Scott, who independently donated billions to diverse causes.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of Jeff Bezos's hypocrisy. So far he has given less than 1% of his wealth to charitable causes. I hope he doesn't die soon, his kids might not "pledge" to give and his widow will require a lot of upkeep.

Bezos's ex-wife has become a philanthropist. I'm sorry, but I still buy from Amazon. I don't like Walmart because they replace so many small businesses in small towns. Their parking lots are dangerous; it's a good thing that they deliver; it's a long drive for us to pick up.

I used to but decided in the end that I simply could not support anything associated with Beezoes. I haven’t closed my account though, because over the years I downloaded so many ebooks I’m afraid I’d lose them—but now I’m buying from Kobo, a Canadian company.

Diana's avatar

Anne- thanks I will look this company up🤗

I tried to cancel but was provided "another offer". I decided that a couple of journalists still employed (Perry Stein, among them) was still worth a discounted subscription. I will not defend the observable changes in reporting, headline formulation, editorial opinions, or sectional content adjustments... but I will suggest that continued observation of the major news outlets and readership commentary is part of my own daily ritual.

Possibly the only way we will not survive this is if Trump steals the midterms.

Which I’m sure they are discussing ways ~ Hope they don’t succeed ‼️

You are an amazing writer. I cannot imagine doing this while parenting, given your need to wade constantly into the filth of the news. Thank you for bringing it all together in a coherent form. Sorry for the cruel people out there. Don’t listen to the haters in the cheap seats. You’re in the arena fighting the good fight. Focus on those fellow travelers!

Just want to thank you for all that you are doing. I live in the red state of TN where after the Supreme Court ruling on gerrymandering the governor immediately called a special session so they can basically destroy the Memphis district in an effort to take away all black representation in in state government. I contacted every single republican legislator asking them not to do it. Only one responded and he is the only one voting against it. I feel the way that you do on many nights, but I am speaking out more and more, and as a Christian who genuinely seeks to follow Jesus, I am praying more and more fervently. You are in those prayers.
