At 6:58 this morning, just as the sun was rising over Washington, D.C., Donald Trump was already wide awake inside the White House, posting on social media about renaming lakes to provoke and harass one of our closest allies. “The United States is giving serious consideration to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America in that we don’t expect to doing much business with Ontario any longer. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Dolly Parton is the shining example of what love, caring, kindness and a generous heart looks like. She will be remembered and honored for years to come, long after the orange menace in the Oval Office will be forgotten, no matter how many things he puts his name on. My condolences to her family; may her memory always be a blessing.
I loved Dolly. I lived in East TN for 6 years. Though I never met her I felt her presence. My family had season passes to Dollywood and we enjoyed her many extended family members that performed there. She was so giving always helping others. She will be greatly missed.
I loved Dolly Parton for the kindness and love and generosity she gave to everyone big or small and I will be donating to her imagination library.
It was such a wonderful idea as all children should have a love of reading.
I don’t even want to mention the other being who can only think of himself, and his guttersnipe need to amass as much gold in his pockets and his complete inability to share it, give back, be compassionate.
And the horde of feeders he has amassed around him, ill educated liars and cheats who never contest the utter drivel being pushed out into the rotting space.
Wake up Americans and VOTE this awful nest of parasites out of office.
My dear Heather - This is such a beautiful written tribute to Dolly.? Thank you for heartfelt words and infinite wisdom about a life well lived . And how we all can make a difference in this world. 🌟⭐️🌟
Heather we shouldn't be at all surprised at the Donald's increasing rants at everything. I don't think that reasonable people can take him seriously, except the MAGA brigade.
I heard the news about Dolly Parton's death last night and didn't believe it at first. She was such a lovely person with a gorgeous voice and a talented songwriter. It got me thinking about another 80 year old, the one in the WH. What sort of legacy will the Dumpkof leave when he eventually leaves this mortal coil? Diddly squat that's what. Dolly leaves a legacy not only her lovely voice and songs, but her philanthropy particularly in her native Tennessee. I also loved the story about her refusing to sell her catalogue of songs to Elvis, though I mean his agent, Colonel Tom Parker. RIP Dolly.
I grew up listening to Dolly and have adored her for a lifetime. I like to believe there is a spiritual army of souls like hers forming to help us through the battle ahead. This is what I shared here on Substack when I heard she was gone:
“I feel much the same with Dolly Parton no longer being earth-side as I did when we lost Pete Seeger and Jimmy Carter. Legendary goodness, powerful souls, gone from our midst. I can only hope they have even more power and can accomplish more good in spirit form. We need it.”
This afternoon within a two hour timeframe received seven phone calls total from my two sons, two daughter ‘n laws, two granddaughters and one grandson. All five were in tears choking back words that expressed a similar sentiment, “Dolly Parton just died. Why, do I have to live in a world with Trump and without Dolly Parton?…Why?” Will say am proud that the men in this family have an ease to express emotions. That IMO shows more strength that they are attuned to their inner selves of dealing with sorrow at the same time with a bit of anger. For the women in this family found that the sorrow was matched more evenly with the anger. Thought it rather intriguing.
Would consider myself more spiritual than religious since have no affiliation with a church. Just see that God is everywhere not necessarily in an assigned building. Had no answer, for any of the seven. No clear reason, even a reasonable answer to give them some comfort other than this. “Sometimes there’s more angels needed to look out for all of us. A person whose heart was so large that could radiate even more with all the others in that chorus.”
Did any of these words render comfort, don’t know other than all seven seemed to respond in a similar way, which was, “That’s just not right, not fair and really sucks. He shoulda have gone first, he’s 80!” My response back to all was “Yes it does, honey. Yes it does.”
Then responded with this for all of them. “The best legacy that any of us can hope for is to leave the world a little better than we found it and Dolly did that many times over. She truly walked the talk, and did so humbly and with grace. She gave so much with no fanfare, no parades, quietly without publicity ever needed. She earned her wings ten-fold and will be so missed, words allude and our hearts are heavier. We need more Dolly’s maybe if we all take a moment and be just a bit of who she is at the core, the world will be so much better. Just so much better. Love you.”
Each phone call only lasted about five to ten minutes, not a long call just a sharing of all our sorrows of Dolly Parton, a woman none of us ever met personally but always felt like we all did.
As the day unfolded, listened to many songs and beautiful lyrics that Dolly Parton performed. Fear we shall not see the likes of Dolly again, I hope not. I really do hope not .. Rest In Power Songwriter 🕊️💕
Will admit that during the day even though making a conscious decision of not thinking about that narcissist blithering idiot thoughts went to definitely questioning the big guys decision making process on who gets the call whether to elevate up or take the elevator down… He’s fu€king 80 years old and is decaying before our eyes… Come on big guy give us a solid and let that nappy time of his remain a long a$s slumber.. This creature, this silver spooned fed narcissistic, sociopathic psychopath has absolutely no redeeming qualities, none.. Totally devoid of any virtues that encompasses Humility, Generosity, Chastity (honestly laughed outloud thinking about this one), Kindness, Temperance, Patience and Diligence. Not a blessed one… His entire being for 80 years has been nothing other than the complete opposites every last one of the seven deadly sins the core of human vices. From Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath and Sloth he lives and breaths everyone one of these on an hourly basis every single day.. Am not going to apologize for these thoughts, cause we all are human and there are days that just break you.. Today was one of them, because we on this earth saw the passing of the best of us all and it should not have happened… His ticket should have been punched for departure.
With that being said, tomorrow is a new day and will play one of my all time favorites “9 to 5” hearing her voice full blast on those speakers that will definitely rattle the windows on my way to town to send out postcards to those two numbnuts in DC, one Senator and the other a Representative that unfortunately are still there until November, knowing that she’s still around writing songs and using those acrylic fingernails clacking away keeping rhythm…
As Dolly said, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.”
RIP Dolly Parton. She left the world a better place for having lived in it for eighty years.
Donald is a petty and vengeful person who holds a grudge for a long time. I think he’s taking his revenge on Canada because of what looked like a flirtatious exchange between Melania and Justin Trudeau, a younger and better looking man than Donald and he was jealous.
Also, I can’t wait to hear your take on this meeting with Jeffries and Kushner.
It seems pretentious to comment on Dolly's passing from here in the U.K. while America is grieving one of their own but we loved her too . Beautiful post, thankyou for reminding us of what goodness is .

Thanks, Heather, for this powerful connection of dots, leading to thoughts and actions. Such good and excellent work.
