I see families who never needed help before lining up at food banks. They tell me it's the only reason their children have enough to eat. These aren't families who were already struggling. These are working parents who did everything right. They believed the promises. They voted for change. Now they're worse off than ever.

Profits over public welfare isn't efficiency, it's destroying accountability. And no, we have not forgotten the damage DOGE has done and continues to do.

He promised to "Make America Healthy Again." He appointed RFK Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Instead of improving healthcare access for children, he's restricting vaccinations. Crucial vaccine research that could protect from cancers gets canceled. Vaccinations are actively discouraged, fueling outbreaks of measles. Trust in science is undermined. Food safety gets weaker. Mental health support is defunded. His promises are making Americans sicker, not safer.

And through it all, supporters chant empty slogans at stages where promises once stood. Perhaps they don't see the betrayal. Or maybe they just don't care.

But we care.

Promises matter, especially when lives are on the line. Families deserve more than hollow words. They deserve human rights, affordable medicine, and economic security. We cannot live in a nation ruled by empty words and political show. A nation where no one takes responsibility.

Texas lawmakers were evacuated from a hotel after receiving violent threats simply for their political beliefs. Imagine officials, fearful for their lives. This highlights a dangerous new reality where democracy is threatened by intimidation and violence against our elected officials..

Families are choosing between rent and groceries. Parents are skipping meals so their children can eat. Working people are applying for government assistance for the first time in their lives. The American dream feels more like a nightmare for millions who trusted the wrong person with their future.

Teachers are leaving their jobs rather than face threats for doing their work. Small towns are losing their only grocery stores because of economic pressure. Young people are moving back in with their parents because they can't afford rent anywhere.
