At 1:44 p.m. this afternoon, the cameras went live, and the world instantly saw the 18 women and two men who had been packed into the Oval Office directly behind the President of the United States, who was sitting and staring off into space with a confused look in every direction. As he sat there, shoulders slumped forward in his tall leather chair, he stared off past the reporters, seemingly unaware that everyone was waiting for him to begin. Seconds later, like a light switch had been flipped, the president came to life, and he began to read his remarks line by line from his three-ring binder.
The 56-minute event was supposed to be about the signing of an executive order establishing the President's Military Spouse Commission, but instead, with military family members packed in behind him, he spent just 14 minutes discussing the commission, followed by 42 minutes on long tirades that had nothing to do with why everyone was gathered there today. He declared that, "I know Europe better than anybody, better than the people that run it." He went on a strange rant about trees in “blue cities,” saying, "Their trees are all gross." And then, apparently thinking he was being thoughtful and cautious about Iran, he said, "I want to give them every last chance before decapitation."
Oh, Heather! This was your genius: “Donald Trump, in no uncertain terms, is the least-knowledgeable person at every table he sits at.” Ironic, isn’t it—genius and ignoramus?!
I feel you should take note of this use of the word "communist" being thrown around by the Republicans right now. It's neither random nor ill-considered but a crafted attitude. It DOES go back to early McCarthyism but to a case where American Communists were arrested, tried and convicted not for what they did, or what they planned to do but for what they MIGHT do BECAUSE of their beliefs. As far as social media is concerned, as I believe is the case with most seniors, Facebook is my platform of choice. I’ve posted a few things about Trump here and there, but not a lot because it doesn’t seem to make a difference. One post made an “enemy” of a childhood acquaintance, even though I had gone to great lengths to remain civil.
One on one or in small groups I have no problem expressing my opinion. But with a larger “audience” I wondered if there was really any benefit. Would the posts only serve to anger old friends?
However, I find it increasingly difficult to withhold my voice. I can no longer stay silent while my deepest sense of right and wrong is being violated. I no longer care if I lose friends, even real friends, not just FB “friends”.
So yesterday I posted some of his memes from his weekend golf outings, and wondered if I was wrong for believing he probably has more important things to tend to😉. Out of nine who responded, which is a very low response rate for me, out of nine only one was republican, and she used the shocked icon. She was shocked at his antics. OMG.
Seeing that caused a lightbulb moment. She’s only listening to Fox News. She does not know the truth of what’s going on. So while I didn’t think I would really be able to open anybody’s eyes with this, I think I did!!
Even just one at a time is great especially there may be a ripple effect. I will always remain civil, but my voice will be heard ( until they block me) LOL.

One spat, again with someone I knew since 8th grade, had to do with her totally inaccurate post regarding the ss benefits illegal immigrants receive in our country. I asked where she got her information - someone she follows on tik tok. I shared information directly from the social security website contradicting her post. She started name calling - just too far gone. First person I blocked.
Trump’s comments about knowing Europe better than European leaders sound a lot like Elon Musk’s comments about the UK while being interviewed by a reporter from the Economist, a magazine based in London. Musk insisted that he understood the UK better than she did.
Switch him off! All administrative staff still supporting this piece of shit will be held accomplices and brought to court, for due punishment. His most probable pre emptive pardon will be thrown in the gutter as an illegal corrupt attempt to protect traitors to the constitution. No mercy.
