At 4:41 p.m. this afternoon, the President of the United States arrived at Morristown Municipal Airport wearing a white hat that said “45-47 USA” as he made his way back to Washington, D.C., after a weekend away golfing in New Jersey. As he approached Air Force One, he completely ignored the shouted questions from the press gathered on the tarmac. By 4:47 p.m., he was onboard a different Air Force One than the one he had been expected to fly home on. This plane was the old-style baby blue-colored version instead of the newer plane he had arrived on just two days earlier. The White House has not announced a reason for switching planes.
Just before takeoff, with the president and those traveling with him already onboard, members of his Secret Service team delayed the departure as they gathered beneath the wing of Air Force One after appearing to notice something of concern down toward the runway. No further details were released, and the plane departed shortly thereafter.
After completing the journey back to Washington, D.C., the president was seen entering the White House at 6:26 p.m. Just 17 minutes later, he posted on Truth Social a grainy AI-generated video of a blue flag flying from the mast of a fishing boat, waving in the air with the words, “King Trump 2028.”

This country has been rebuilt several times, this possibly is the biggest challenge that we’ve encountered, I believe we will lock arms and pull through stronger. Thank you Heather. There are a number of our Navy, Air Force and Marines that the morale is hitting rock bottom and the crews are exhausted. Let’s just take the ones serving on the USS Abraham Lincoln for example. They have told relatives about being served a half-cup of rice and two tortillas for a meal, that’s it, and said the ship's store often lacks soap, deodorant and toothpaste, and even toilet paper is scarce.
Crew members are also worn out by working long, grueling 12 to 14 hour shifts, with some rarely getting a day off, and described broken toilets, moldy showers without hot water and no laundry service for weeks at a time, relatives said. “The morale is not good," and “Apparently, the ship's doctor or therapist said they need to hit port soon or people are going to start, you know, losing their minds. Loosing all their sh*t.”
Navy veterans who have served on air craft carriers and other ships are warning that conditions on the ships could lead to disaster, noting that an aircraft carrier was an extremely hazardous workplace even during peacetime. — “It's the most dangerous place in the world already, and now you're grinding it out, day in and day out, with no breaks," - “It's an environment that's ripe for accidents."

As his post reads — “It is my Great Honor to announce that, effective September 1st, Will Scharf will become Assistant to the President and White House Counsel, replacing a man, David Warrington, who has done a truly outstanding job as White House Counsel and, before that, for my Presidential Campaign," he wrote. "David will be going on to the Private Sector."
David Warrington, is another former personal lawyer, has been among one of his closest advisers and was part of the small inner circle that huddled with the Felon in the days before he decided to launch his war on Iran.
The 58-year-old lawyer has been seen as a key enabler of his second-term power push, advising him as he invoked emergency powers, deployed troops to U.S. cities, deported immigrants against court orders, and unleashed his sweeping tariffs, per the NYT.
In May 3025. Warrington, together with then-AG Pam Bondi, gave him the green light to accept that $400 million Boeing 747 as a gift from Qatar.
While the Constitution prohibits federal officials from receiving personal gifts from foreign heads of state without the consent of Congress, Warrington and Bondi concluded that the gift was "legally permissible" because it would be handed to the Air Force and later transferred to Trump's presidential library foundation. They also determined it did not constitute a bribe because the gift did not hinge on an official act.
Chris LaCivita, Trump's campaign manager, told the Times in September 2025 that Warrington "doesn't lead with the answer, “‘No’” — “Instead, it's, 'Let's figure out what is in the art of the possible’.”

But that appeals court ruled that he just can’t tear down the White House and rebuild it as a monument to himself without the approval of Congress. Guess Schart will have his hands full with that ballroom and that arch..
Scharf is known around D.C. as "the folder guy" for his role in handing Executive Order folders to him during those signing ceremonies. Scharf unsuccessfully ran for attorney general in Missouri in 2024.
Who knows maybe Warrington is reading the handwriting on the wall. 1) He's worried about his law license. 2) He has to make lots more $$$$ for his own personal lawyer; what with all of the upcoming hearings, and depositions, trials and such. 3) He was 'deeply involved' in planning the war on Iran; which has lots of war crimes associated with it.

As a Dharma Teacher, I constantly get email from students in USA and worldwide, with their fears, anger, and feelings of helplessness. I write a blog twice a week, and some of your insights are helpful to me as I try to make sense of our present situation. My focus is largely on how we can not be caught in the negativity and adding to it, yet still say no. Im in my 80s now. Back in 1960-62, I was a Freedom Rider, and involved in other nonviolent action for social change, These days so much of the impetus for change comes from fear and anger. Your "hope for America" , indeed, hope for the world, is a welcome answer to the present negativity. But we do need also to speak up, as you do,. Thank you.
Yes, we do. I would have been right there with you fighting for Civil Rights. In fact, my black biracial daughter calls me her Little Freedom Rider. It takes all of us. Today, we are fighting for our Democracy.
I just hope that after we vote Trump out of office there will be enough money in government left to rebuild. It will take many years to get our government back to working correctly for "all" people. What about all the wrecked families, all the drained savings. In this kind of environment it is always the kids that suffer the most. I do pray that we can once again love our neighbor as ourselves.
I heard him say the other day "that people were mad at the republicans; they aren't mad at me". I'm here to tell all that yes, we are mad at you, and we hate you along with all the rest of the republicans acting in your own self-interest, instead of ours. I know we can fix this, it won't be easy, but we need to clean out the republicans everywhere, that's the simple solution.

When we stumble out of this time, what we see will shock us. Allies that no longer trust us. Adversaries who longer respect us. And unless we fix them, internal vulnerabilities that are easy exploited in support of someone else’s ambitions, not the needs of the American people.
Americans of good faith have to bond together and commit to a massive repair project that will span decades, and some of us (I'm 62) may not see its conclusion. But begin we must, and we must not waver, nor give up when the going gets tough, because kicking the can down the road is a big reason why we are where we are now.

Heather, I had a thought I would like to share with you. Upon Trump’s death (soon, we hope), the assets of the Trump Organization should be seized and returned to the US Treasury. They should be used to demolish, replace and repair all the damage Trump has done to the nation, including buildings, monuments and programs to help the people. Anything left should go to the US Treasury to reduce the national debt (he is bankrupting us as he does with anything he gets his hands on). Trump will be unable to do anything about it as he will be burning in h—- and his family will be in jail.
Heather, perhaps the most important news of the day was that a US company has, without permits, permission, or prior warning, started to land drilling equipment in Greenland. I may be reading tea leaves here, but is this the route out of Iran? could Trump announce, with great fanfare, that the US has decided to establish a substantial civilian and industrial base in Greenland, to go along with the existing military base, and thus accomplished a key goal of taking command of Greenland? That way, Iran becomes and afterthought.
And it would pose a massive concern to the rest of NATO. It would not be a military invasion, and so Article 5 could not be invoked to justify a joint military response. Any effort by Denmark alone to use military force would be a huge gamble - if Denmark were to send soldiers in to stop the drilling, the US could respond with force, and thus give Trump the opportunity to declare that the us has been attacked, and that his response is to seize Greenland to defend the property and lives of US citizens.
