OK, so Trump is undeniably insane and in terminal decline, everyone knows it, and their commendable though deserved response is patient sympathy for our mutual predicament. It is extremely useful and beneficial for Heather to be documenting all this so well as it unfolds.

Trump is an astounding embarrassment to ALL Americans - even the ones who can't see it... yet.

Trump is the person in the upper left extreme peak on the Dunning-Kruger curve. (See the graph here https://bsky.app/profile/justinsg.bsky.social/post/3lgyra2gsl22b )

What an embarrassment he is. To his country, his planet, his galaxy. I can just see the aliens now, pissing themselves laughing at this walking talking nightmare.

"Take me to your leader", they will sputter with hysterical amusement.

I've seen 'Mars Attacks', I know how it goes.

I watched part of the conference and it made me feel sick and sad. He could hardly breathe while talking. He just rambled on and on about nonsense. If listening to this doesn’t get people out to vote against him, we are in real trouble. Especially the evangelical voters should hang their heads in shame.

I am not sad. I am angry. And our institutions are not holding. They are under attack by the enablers of Trump and those who benefit from his “largesse” with our tax dollars. The integrity of our DOJ is not holding. The integrity of the SCOTUS is not holding. We have a promise that is non-binding that FEMA may resume functioning as it should when communities are hit with natural disasters. I could go on but the point should be obvious.

Hi Heather,

a gentleman’s agreement as suggested is simply not possible with Trump. Everything he says is a lie, and he is certainly no gentleman! He should be relegated to a care home for pensioners with dementia, if such still exists after the disappearance of funding.

It's always difficult to see the other hand that is not handshaking in agreement - the one behind the back with the fingers crossed.

This ALL makes my head hurt, so I am going to share something special to brighten your day.

During the late spring through much of fall, a pair of sandhill cranes visit my yard. They usually parade one baby bird around the neighborhood. Last year, no baby. This year I've seen only one very occasionally, and I've been wondering what was up. Just an hour ago, the pair walked by with TWO babies in tow. This simple, pretty normal event has me over the moon and I'm not going to let anyone take this joy away today.

His “adoration” of Narendra Modi is kind of sickening. Modi rules India with an iron hand, fomenting hatred against Moslems. My brother, who has visited India many times, does not have a high opinion of his character.

Thank you Heather.

So what have we learned this week by the leader of the MAGA cult — Years of hardline rhetoric ended with sanctions relief, economic incentives, and unresolved nuclear disputes after a war that cost American lives and billions of dollars and ammunition stock piles at an uncomfortable low number. Iran is victorious and our nation looks weak and feeble.. just as weak and feeble as the cognitive declining creature that is beyond excited to see the palace of Versailles with all the “real gold doodads”..

Yep… Morons Are Governing America..

As we all were paying attention to this MOU and the G7 in Évian-les-Bains, France. On the home front after Senate Republicans indicated a willingness to immediately confirm Jay Clayton as Director of National Intelligence, Trump ordered Clayton not to appear for his confirmation hearing. Trump wants Bill Pulte to be able be the “acting DNI Director where he can do the most harm…Also again Trump told the Republicans, that he will not sign a reauthorization of the warrantless-search authority under Section 702 of FISA unless they attach the SAVE Act to the bill.

another excellent column! It is so pitiful to watch Trump on a daily basis...one would have to be blind to see how frail, confused and incompetent he is. At this point, I blame his handlers for keeping him propped up, just like Biden's handlers did until Biden finally admitted defeat. There is a story in the news that even the Republicans are angry about the Iran "deal"...maybe now they will grow some balls and do something about getting Trump out of the White House and holding his handlers accountable!!!!!

Oh please, can't someone remove this sick, toxic and demented old man before he does any more damage? "I'm the boss" he declared at the G7 meeting. Did anyone actually believe him? Of course not. His latest lie is that he's watched all the World Cup games and declared that the US team is the best. Trump, you know diddly squat about football and I doubt whether you have the attention span to sit through a game without falling asleep.

Trump is being handled by everyone around him like one of us would handle a parent or grandparent with dementia.

They all realize what’s going on and the extreme need to deal with the problem in a very sensitive way.

Macron is very astute he played it perfectly and knew exactly how to get what needed to be done accomplished. France, Italy,Germany, England have all been orchestrating this for months and their efforts paid off.

The question is how much longer will THEY be patient and sympathetic with US. They have done their part..the ball is in our court now.

We cannot let this addled ill old man take us down any longer..we must barrage the senators and representatives to get him out of office now…before the midterms…the play acting that he’s some great accomplished leader is OVER..Europe has pulled that curtain all the way back…the full light of the day is shining on the biggest failure we have ever had as a leader and we better not continue the charade.

Now is the time to pull out all the stops and apply full pressure..he NEEDS to go before the midterms and Macron has just given us the blueprint as to how to do it…flatter him..cajole him..promise him shiny rewards and carefully convince him his “ great work “ is done…he can REST now…then calmly usher him out the door.

Bill Corbett's avatar

James Caraville thinks he will resign next year after he and republicans lose the midterms. I don't think he will live that long from what I'm seeing. November 3rd is creeping up on him like the plague and this plague could be deadly.

We know Trump will respond like he has at the G7 meetings. It is horrific, embarrassing, and of great concern for the US and our planet. He is not supporting our democracy or the people. He has not since 2016. It is getting worse and worse.

I appreciate Heather’s accounting of his days always.

However as concerned citizens we need to build to create another way, another avenue that will support all Americans and the world.

The 2026 elections are critical in terms of having a huge turnout and winning ….free and fair elections are not granted…May need to be fought for. The platform for Democrats needs to be in place so when we win we are able to get going on change…not just talk of change…asap. People of the US need to see it. If there is the outpouring of energy that will allow us to win, we need to tap into that energy without letting it die out. Now is the time for us to ramp up our efforts and win big. Then change the attitude and prior way of doing business as Democrats. We need to act now, like the current administration is doing on a moment to moment basis. This is the way to save our country from more destruction and suffering.

Thank you

Thanks for the sweet rabbit picture, Heather! I'm disgusted they let rump soil the beautiful palace of Versailles. I'm also surprised rump knows anything about Hoover or any U.S. history for that matter.

America has never been such an embarrassment. Until eleven years ago. When this person became President in name only. (PINO) I have never seen a President act like this ever. It truly makes me sick and mad. Can we get back on track? I’m surely hoping for it. Thank you Heather. I enjoyed your podcast with Qasim Rashid . ❤️☮️

I read this daily to my husband while he calmly paints something. And when I get to “And that is why” my voice always changes as the tears start. And today even the rabbit cafe got me because that IS what this is about—our children, ALL OF THEM, and our grandchildren, too. Thank you.

I am beyond embarrassed and have passed horrified and now I am teetering on terrified. I guess it feels like a nightmare, doctor, but I'm wide awake. In November, when this obviously incapacitated person sends orders for the U.S. Army to stand in front of polling places with orders to shoot anyone who disobeys an order, will the governors and mayors and the local law enforcement allow this to happen? Let the red state governors welcome the soldiers but for the blue states, what will that mean when there are two lines facing each other, armed to the teeth with American voters in between?
