Today in UK a Gale is blowing. It’s always a worry but also a way of looking at being cosy and warm inside listening to the wind.

The news and the world are worrying places so today I wish everyone a peaceful warm cosy day before the real storm leading up to the 3rd of November. Stay strong guys, vote blue and protect your neighbours and friends because all Trump is protecting with his mad minions is his wallet and he could not give a damm about anyone around him.

You give me hope for America everyday. Several times while reading your post, I had to stop bc what I was hearing seemed unbelievable. It’s like living in a dystopian novel. We are so used to it by now that we expect another atrocity every time we pick up our phones. And he ALWAYS delivers. We have the power to stop this on November 3, barring any shenanigans. Please make it so. VOTE!

Heather, please take enough time to rest every day even if the mid-terms are around the corner. You also have a family who needs you. Take care & as always, thank you. 🙏

Trump seems to get more and more doolally with each passing day. Surely his audiences can see what rubbish he spouts? And what is the slapping of his right leg all about? The only people who can stop this is to invoke the 25th Amendment.

I keep wanting to ask Russell Vought if this fits in to his Project 2025. Is this what he had in mind? Really?

The truly evil Russell Vought wanted a distraction from what he and his staff would be doing behind the scenes, where they are currently accomplishing everything they planned to accomplish -- and more.

I voted. From my couch. Slipped it into the mailbox in my building. Said a prayer as I watched to make sure my envelope sailed down. Prayed that it would be one of gazillions that would send Republicans back home, and to their houses of worship to beg forgiveness.

I feel your fear, Heather. How many are out there like the people behind Trump in the photo with your Substack. Despite his rambling cruelty, still they sit. And still they smile.

I appreciate that your Substack did not focus on Trump’s unraveling. “…he understood exactly what he was doing.”

He knew that Americans were suffering because of high gas prices, and he knew that bragging about oil companies making enormous profits could make him look terrible. And he did it anyway.

Could his insanity be an act? Generate “hands off” on a person so seriously ill?

Is it demented to admit :“But I said I don’t give a damn. I’m going to say it. We’re making a freaking fortune.” Or is it a brag?

I think what scares you, me, and all Democrats, is there may be enough people who also “don’t give a damn” about Trump’s behavior. In fact, they likely champion it. A leader who says all of the racist, misogynist, hateful things about others? Babble on.

But I am heartened by Trump’s tease of Senator Ossoff. In his joke, Trump signaled the name of our Democratic candidate for President. Re-election for Ossoff is certain, but the higher seat appears doable.

All of your worries about soldiers on the street, and other atrocious actions that Trump is listing on his bedside pad of paper, are legitimate. But with my vote already in the counting houses, and the knowledge of fellow citizens who “have had it up to here” I’m feeling hopeful.

Praying that "hopeful" transforms into Outstanding! Amazing! We did it!

Heather,

Can you explain why so few, if any, of the news media, cover Trump's ravings as thoroughly as you do?

I'm terrified. Not about November, but about January. I hope that the Democrats are preparing, that someone has figured out a plan for the day that the GOP blocks seating new Democratic lawmakers.
