Tillis: “…but that the executive branch has stripped them of their independence by threatening primary challenges if they step out of line.”

They bent over backwards to willingly fellate the Gilded Toadstool©️hundreds if not thousands of times on Fox “News” and in the MSM. They have abrogated their responsibilities. They have given up any semblance of intelligence and integrity to fall in line with the Malignant Narcissist in Chief.

There MUST be a Nuremberg v.2 trials in 2029. No “let bygones be bygones” or “move forward” bullshit. They must be taken to account for sullying this great nation.

I am a Nebraskan, I was born here and have lived here all my life. Grand Island is my home town. I am absolutely horrified by what Donald Trump said tonight in my birthplace, the place that first shaped me and set me on the path to what I am. I have gone back and forth as to whether I hate tRump, because I am not sure that hate is ever justified. His comments tonight cemented my opinion: yes, this man is “worthy“ of my hatred.

I realize that T**** has a particular animus for the beautifully diverse California. However, every single US American should wonder how they would feel if he offered their city or state for nuclear destruction, and then decide how to respond. What T**** said Monday evening must never be forgotten, or glossed over. It is utterly disgusting, and clearly impeachable. And no, he wasn't "just joking." He is too sick too joke -- but never too sick to threaten us.

Heather, as always, thank you for this insightful, but very depressing Substack. You've convinced us, and perhaps a handful of members of his party, that Trump . is dangerously ill. But the danger comes for us. Trump is too demented to realize his words will go down in history. I pray that your words today sail beyond your readers and into the homes and offices of Republicans. I'd like the families of his enablers to bar the door to Republican legislators still too frightened to go against him? Stupid? Unamerican? As I've often complained: Trump is too demented to change his way. But where are Republicans who could stop him today? Surely they were intelligent enough to gain office. Alas, Trump's insanity was catching, and now every Republican legislator has come down with the illness of Stupidity, Treason, an Cowardice. Look it up. It's in the Merck Manuals.

Remove him immediately.

Charge him with the death penalty.

He’s guilty of treason 10 million times over.

That his audience cheered is alarming and outrageous.

What will it take for Congress to have ENOUGH and finally come together and remove him from office? If this display of craziness doesn't do it what will?

So these are the lengths that he will go to encourage a war on American soil so the elections won't happen? He is so incredibly unwell.. it gets scarier every day.

Thank you for keeping us informed Heather.

Entirely right about Trump, but I'm thinking his enablers are worse. He is insane and has no idea what he's saying. They have decided to allow and enable it and have no excuses. They are thinking entirely and exclusively of themselves, at the expense of the rest of us and our country. They should be our main target when the moment comes, as it surely will.

I’m so angry! How DARE he‼️‼️‼️ San Diego is a wonderful city that I visited more times than I can remember over the 55 years I lived in California—my sister-in-law who still lives there, the zoo, Old Town, etc. I have former colleagues down there too. And near LA, I have a niece-in-law and her husband whom I love. I’m truly frightened for them and everyone who lives in those two cities and their surroundings. I even forwarded them a copy of a Substack post about one of DJT’s previous outrages, encouraging them to vote. My stomach is constantly roiling with fear and anger.

I know I’m safe enough in the U.K., but even here, people are worried that Iran will mount a terrorist attack because (despite removing a few planes), there are still plenty of U.S. bases dotted around the country, and many expat Iranians, not all of whom are against the ayatollahs and their theocracy. Same goes for California—thousands of expat Iranians, mostly refugees but not all of them. And the awful thing is, I might not even blame them if they did attack—though if they do, they should direct their attack towards the president, not cities that don’t support him.
