Just after 1 pm this afternoon, with Melania Trump standing beside him, clapping and beaming with joy, the President of the United States strained as he used his still bruised hand to twirl a green flag as he officially started the “MAGA FREEDOM 250 GRAND PRIX.” With the capital city transformed into a racetrack for the president’s entertainment, streets across Washington, D.C. were shut down, traffic backed up, and residents were left dealing with the disruption during this very bumpy event.
I’m glad you’re able to find glimmers of hope every day (truly, your gift) when mine is in short supply. I think people are waiting quietly til the midterms to stop this but what are we going to do when we find out the midterms are stolen or a national emergency is called canceling them? Because we know they aren’t going to just let the midterms be lost, give up their power and accept it! They’re clearly confident in an outcome that keeps them in power and we’ve seen the lengths they will go. Is that when the majority of Americans across this country who are horrified by this regime will rise up or will we just do what we’ve been doing all along, for the most part? Because this really is the end of the line for America otherwise.
There are days wonder what will be written about the 250th celebration of this nation in the history books and envision people looking at pictures and reading accounts. What will be highlighted and what will not be from this year. There’s way too many events from a UFC fight on the White House lawn, to a failure of a State Fair, that not all states attended, nor many people. To the rumblings of race cars whose vibrations made our most treasured documents in jeopardy. How the overall look and grand layout of Washington, D.C. that was designed from scratch by French-born engineer and architect Pierre Charles L'Enfant. Who was appointed by President George Washington in 1791, L'Enfant created the master plan for the city. His vision traded traditional European layout styles for a brand-new setup built specifically around American ideals. Yes those “American ideals” …
What are those “American ideals” exactly throughout this executive branch, you know the regime? What have they displayed, governed, placed into law or provided for all the American people? How much money has been spent on this 250th celebration and which celebrations exactly were for the American people? Exactly what laws and policies have benefitted all the American people since this regime has been office? How’s it been working out from this executive branch meeting with world leaders, making treaties with other countries? How about administering the laws created by Congress, like turning over those Epstein files that were due in December 2025? How about any other laws just created out of Congress versus by executive order?
What are those “American ideals” with the Republicans who hold the majority in Congress? Where have they stepped up to display that they are a co-equal branch of our government to provide a check and balance to the executive branch when illegal activities occur to begin an investigation? Follow the Constitution they all solemnly swore too. That they were elected by the people to perform that job and service for the people.
What are those “American ideals” in the Supreme Court? Where has our U.S. Supreme Court, the highest court in the country and heads the judicial branch of government that it is their job to interpret the Constitution, decide if laws or executive actions follow that Constitution, and serve as the final court of appeal for lower court decisions that is to serve the people? To check and ensure if laws passed by Congress or any actions by the president, the executive branch breaks any of the rules of the U.S. Constitution.
Yea those history books that will be written for generations to come to read about this 250th celebration… Will these history books be “non-fiction” based on real people, real events, and factual evidence from this time. Or will they be “fiction” from a writer's imagination, make-believe rather than a record of real-life facts or the actual events..
Just an FYI - Whenever you go to a National Park and see run down infrastructure, unclean toilets like that gooey brown stuff overflowing on the floor, no toilet paper within a mile, no one who has any idea on how to save you if lost in the woods, overflowing dumpsters that bears and raccoons are camping out at for dinner, and just a few other inconveniences in the next few years - remember where the money went - to this Felon’s major vanity, little passion projects to remake DC into an ugly a$$ Mar-a-Lago. Nothing says freedom like a Felon and a grifter stealing the nations funds and taxpayers dollars…

And please remember that not only does Canada have a military, that military has been standing with America for the aerospace defense of North America for decades. The NORAD treaty was signed May 12, 1958. Every day since then Canadians have gone to work alongside Americans to defend our continent and sovereignty. Every day of every year.
Running auto races of any sort on city streets should no longer be allowed. I’m a lifelong auto-racing fan, attended Formula One races in the U.K. at Silverstone and Brands Hatch race courses as well as the Long Beach Grand Prix at least three times (I lived in California for 57 years). And my father and two of my brothers raced vintage autos in the U.K. So I’m not against auto racing, I just don’t believe it belongs on city streets because it is so disruptive of local businesses and residents (I remember listening to them complain in Long Beach). And it isn’t cheaper to watch than it is at dedicated race tracks! As with most other professional sports, ticket prices have soared and are beyond the reach of most ordinary people nowadays, unless they start saving up well in advance!

Heaven knows what the clear up will cost the taxpayers of Washington.
Just what is Sean Duffy talking about Canada having no military and complaining about the tariffs? I'm not even Canadian and even I know that, being a member of NATO, of course they have a military force. I think Duffy says such things to placate his lord and master.

Trump couldn’t negotiate a deal with his own Republican majority in Congress to approve a race around Capitol Hill. He couldn’t negotiate a deal with Iran, or a deal to end the Israel-Palestine conflict, or a deal with the healthcare industry and insurers for a better healthcare plan. He rules by the sword, through executive orders and tariffs.
But his failure to negotiate a deal with Canada makes an enemy of a friend. And that’s outrageous!
Come November, America’s voters will elect a Congress that won’t negotiate with Trump. Our next Congress will Impeach, convict, and remove this tyrant! And in 2029, we’ll prosecute him!
