At 4:42 PM yesterday, Air Force One touched down at Joint Base Andrews after the president’s events in Houston earlier in the day. Exactly 13 minutes later, Donald Trump stepped off the plane as reporters shouted questions from behind the rope line. He ignored most of them, but one caught his attention: Why wasn’t he going to New York for 9/11?
“Because I’m going to the Pentagon,” Trump shot back.
When a reporter followed up and asked why he couldn’t do both, Trump gave the same answer. “Because I’m going to the Pentagon.”
But that wasn’t the real reason Donald Trump was refusing to attend an event that honors the memory of those we lost on one of the most solemn days in our nation’s history.

I'm beginning to think that the reason he wouldn't fly 20 miles to attend the 75th Anniversary of D-Day on the Normandy coast along with the heads of all the other Allied Nations was because he wasn't being allowed to speak and draw the attention to his narcissistic self.

I've been following you on Facebook for some time and finally subscribed because what you're doing is so important. I'm a former GOP voter who doesn't support most candidates now because they're not willing to use their power to check what's happening in this country. My husband is a Trump supporter and retired military member who used to praise him because "my 401k is doing great.". He tells me I have TDS. Even he is now saying things like "Why are you so upset about what he says? He's a clown and will be gone in 2 years." That's why I have hope the tide is turning. He's not saying he was wrong to support him yet, but I've never heard him speak negatively about the man, either.
Presumably one answer to 'why are you so upset, when he'll be gone in 2 years', is that his Project 2025 team, and the perverse clowns in his Cabinet are doing enormous damage every day and will keep doing it so long as Trump is there to allow it. Whatever facet of life one thinks of - environmental protection, consumer protection, public health, foreign policy, the economy, the depth and breadth of his and his family's personal corruption: it would be far better for everbody except Trump and the super-rich if their actions stopped now. And it is very fair to complain now, so that most voters are aware of it (even though so many are Fox-poisoned) in time to vote to stop it.
Exactly, he is only the hideous sideshow intended to distract us from the P25 cultists, oligarchs and corruption that is hollowing out gov functions that serve the people and uphold a functional democracy.

Even though he is retired military now working for the federal government as a civilian, he was never willing to criticize DOGE, et Al because he believed his job/career was safe. We have several veteran friends whose jobs were cut and lives upended by the horrific policies of this administration. They worked for the IRS, the VA, FDA and other agencies, not just DoD. It's going to take a generation to rebuild what we have lost, if ever.

I've had to stop talking about Trump in order not to "poke the bear." But my husband is very aware of the fact that I removed the "Proud to be an American" plate off of my car and threw it in the trash. He knows that we will cancel out each other's votes in the mid-terms.
We have family members who have the flags and swag, hard to talk thru the haze. They completely believe he’s cleaning D.C. of the old school career politicians and doing a good job! 🙄
