At 7:01 tonight, the president of the United States stepped out of the Oval Office wearing an ill-fitting, oversized suit at the exact same time as Lee Greenwood’s "God Bless the USA" started blasting from the speakers. As he walked toward the waiting crowd seated under yellow and white umbrellas, protecting them from the angry sky above, his foot stumbled; he stopped to catch his breath, slapped his upper right thigh, and slowly made his way to the podium. From there, he spent the next 17 minutes and 54 seconds proving just how mentally unfit he is for the office of the presidency.
He did not hold back at all tonight or even pretend to honor the presidency with decency. He shared how thrilled women, especially, were that he tore up the old Rose Garden and replaced it with concrete. He invited his guests to check out the Oval Office: “You'll get to see the Oval Office, because there's no place like it anywhere in the world,” and the new helipad: “It's a helipad where the helicopters can land,” Trump said.
“Give us another chance.” Yeah, right. Like Kevin Bacon playing the character Chip in Animal House says as a pledge: “Thank you sir! May I have another?” As he gets another paddle to his ass.
It proves just how brain dead Vance is, how thoroughly stupid and mendacious his persona presents itself.
We must have our own Nuremberg trials in 2029, or our benighted country will be lost forever.
I am guessing that disingenuous clown won’t even sniff the Republican nomination. When all is said and done I see him as another talking head on Fox Noise.
Everything is overwhelming. Just vote all Blue in November. It’ll be the first big step in preventing Trump from further devastating the country and the beginning of undoing his damage.
The list of offensive, deleterious executive orders this guy struggles to comprehend is matched only by the grotesque corruption and blatant racism and sexism.
Yet, we repeatedly come back to affordability. And while affordability will help us wrest control of the House and Congress it puts us on an untenable cycle.
The next incarnation of GOP MAGA will learn from this. They will continue their destructive ways but manage somehow to create an illusory life of affordability.
At some point we need to re-insert common decency, respect for others, along with ethical and moral principles into the dialogue. Otherwise we are on an economic hamster-wheel while our democracy vanishes.

I sure hope that ethical hunters don't use lead. It's an environmental disaster that threatens the entire food chain. Kills birds. Loons, raptors, etc . Anyone that wants to preserve this privilege won't use lead. Christ!!

Like you, I also try to engage with people in my red state even during small daily interactions. Our words matter.
Example: in answer to the routine question of “How are you doing?”, I often answer , “Other than our country and the world, fine”. Often it gets a knowing response, leading to a feeling of camaraderie . Sometimes it leads to further discussion. If the 22 year old grocery cashier was somehow not aware an election is coming up, I can quickly encourage them to be sure and vote if they can, so we all have a voice. Sometimes I get a blank stare in response, but at least I’ve made a friendly comment about the price of groceries.

Last night he showed everyone how he’s making his billions—once again—but we already knew that. Worse was when he also showed us who he is and how much he enjoys having the power to make people ‘hurt’—even his own supporters(e.g., the fishing example). Someone as sadistic as he is fundamentally incapable of caring about us. So it isn’t JUST that he barely knows what he’s doing or signing (into law!), it’s that he enjoys the power to harm even his supporters. For the children.

I am not a "gun enthusiast" or hunter, but a quick search reveals lead has a couple of "advantageous" characteristics over non-lead varieties (usually copper). Lead is cheaper (probably the most important driving factor), linked to being more easily melted, poured, and casted. On the impact end, lead can fragment into smaller pieces causing more damage to soft tissues.
You would think that most hunters shooting wild game for consumption would prefer non-lead ammo simply because it is easier to process the carcass (no pulling lead fragments out) along with eliminating any risk of lead consumption. Those killing for sport (or other activities)?
Ah, thank you. I should have researched it myself but my list of things to research is pages long at this point because i don't understand anything anymore. It seems like hunters who would use this ammo can't entirely claim to be "sportsmen" - or maybe they've consumed so much lead in their lives that they are a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

Then came silence.
And now, increasingly, I’m hearing something different: agreement — even from some very staunch Republicans.
That gives me hope. Not because everyone has to agree politically, but because our Constitution and our fundamental American principles should matter more than any one politician or political party.
