Donald Trump is asleep on the job
Nineteen minutes into a live Oval Office event on health care affordability, the President of the United States fell asleep at his desk. Pharmaceutical executives and cabinet members stood behind him, playing their parts in the performance, while the man who holds the fate of the world in his hands couldn’t keep his eyes open. This is the same man who spent years calling Joe Biden “Sleepy Joe.”
When he was alert, he wasn’t talking about health care. He pulled out photographs of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and announced he was having it resurfaced with industrial pool coating for $1.5 million, originally wanting it turquoise “like in the Bahamas.” He claimed he drew a bigger crowd than Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. And when reporters asked real questions about the war and gas prices, he called one “a disgrace,” cut off another and called him “a wise guy.”
Behind the performance, the consolidation of American media took another step forward. Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders voted to approve Paramount’s $110 billion takeover, putting CNN, HBO, CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Pictures under one roof owned by David Ellison, son of one of Trump’s closest billionaire allies. That same night, Ellison hosted an invitation-only dinner in Washington honoring Trump. His approval rating on the economy sits at 34%, lower than it was before Republicans lost the House in 2018. He fell asleep at his own press conference. And the media landscape that is supposed to hold him accountable just got significantly smaller.

I hate him and everything he's doing. But when I hear about how he is destroying the buildings and monuments in OUR Washington DC, I cry in rage and sadness. .
Thank you, Heather for another succinct breakdown of the relevant news.
On a lighter note, I just tuned into Fox for a quick sec and heard Jesse Waters call Kushner “Kush”, which made me wonder if he likes his tush.
Have a restful weekend, everyone.
