At 12:53 this afternoon, Donald Trump was already struggling to keep his eyes open as he exited the Oval Office and walked straight to the Rose Garden luncheon to honor first responders. As “God Bless the USA” played over the speakers, the president stood with the right side of his mouth drooping downward, taking in the moment until every last note of the song had been played. He then walked up to the podium and spoke for 36 minutes, telling the audience of heroes that he should be sleeping right now, that he is not a controversial person, and that he has some “severe problems,” but that they are not related to drugs or alcohol. By the time he finished his incoherent, rambling speech, it was clear that Donald Trump’s long goodbye was already well underway.
Thank you Heather. Congratulations for having a shout out on the Katy Tur show. Outstanding. Again, my apologies for the length.
As per Reuters Apparently the order to limit a satellite system used by Ukraine for battlefield communications and drone operations came from inside the White House, according to two US officials and a Western official briefed on the matter. The officials said leaders at the Defense Department received a message that the SpaceX Starshield service for the Ukrainian military needed to be slowed. The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, did not specify who in the White House made the decision or who was responsible for implementing the order. The Pentagon is the biggest customer of Starshield, which is the military-grade version of the Starlink service.
Russia bombed three power plants that supply Kyiv, aiming to cut off heating and electricity to the city. According to Zelenskyy. It was the second night in a row with no warning coming from Ukraine’s western allies of the incoming ballistic missiles – and so no air raid alert was issued.
Would suggest reading Professor HCR Letter from an American today the rats, circus clowns and jugglers will be making for a big show as the house of cards begins to collapse…May not take much for it start crumbling, just a few short bursts of wind that many maybe will be tumbling into the trash heap. Do not think Katie Zacharia will be serving as lead counsel for anyone. Since that pesky bar exam didn’t happen and she doesn’t have a license to actually practice law. But that’s just one of those pesky things. Those “rules” seem to get in so many in this regimes ways. Laws and Rules..
Another school shooting… When will we love our children more than guns?
October 15, 2026 at 3:59pm at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend Oregon. Three children ages 5, 8, and 11 and one teacher died. A 7-year-old and a 54-year-old teacher were transported to St. Charles Bend hospital with critical injuries.

President Donald Trump has not released a statement or posted on his social media about the school shooting that occurred at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon on Thursday, October 15, 2026. It’s now Friday morning, nothing….
The official White House social media platform has not released a statement or posted about the school shooting that occurred at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon on Thursday, October 15, 2026. It’s now Friday morning, nothing….
Historically, every modern U.S. President since Bill Clinton has publicly addressed or posted about school shootings on that day within a few hours after receiving the briefing.
You don’t wake up one morning and find your country is no longer recognizable. It doesn’t crumble in a day. Or even a year. It rots slowly — quietly — like a house consumed by termites until one day the floor drops out from under your feet. And by then, it’s too late.
We used to know what was important. Neighbors waved at each other. Families ate meals together. Children felt safe in schools. When tragedy struck, people didn’t send thoughts and prayers. They showed up in vans filled with casseroles and brought folding chairs to rest on neighbors’ porches. Now? Folks don’t even look up from their phones long enough to see the neighbor is drowning. Empathy has been replaced with hate. Compassion has been replaced with distraction.
We used to think integrity was a baseline. You told the truth because your word meant something. You worked because pride lived in the calluses on your hands. Now lying is accepted. Cheating is just the “norm.” Greed is a given. We applaud people who take shortcuts and shame those who fall behind because they chose to be honest.
We used to have respect. Not for power. Not for politics. But for life itself. For elders. For children. For strangers on the street. For all the differences of each and every person. Now disrespect is how you get noticed. Cruelty is the practice. Hating gets you ahead. People get rewarded for tearing others down more than they do for building them up. People get punished for the color of their skin, the languages they speak they are not worth keeping anymore in communities, they are all criminals.
And the scariest part is we’ve stopped being shocked. We scroll past the violence. Another school shooting, just another headline. We laugh and cheer at corruption. We make “evil” the new normal because maybe we’re just too damn tired to care or to numb. That’s how a nation loses its soul — not because bad things happen, but because good people stop noticing. That saying, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Seems to hit the mark. So many opportunities to do right by our children in schools. For all of us to feel just a bit safer.
Think it’s also this—The world suffers a lot. Not because the violence of bad people. But because of the silence of the good people.
But here’s the thing. Decay is not destiny. A country is not some mystical thing. It’s just us — regular people — deciding who we want to be. If we’re selfish, the country will be selfish. If we’re corrupt, the country will be corrupt. But what if we choose to usher back in kindness, empathy, compassion, decency, and truth. If we choose to be the people who care again. We choose to demand better, not more just simply better. Then maybe we can change the trajectory of this thing.
A country doesn’t die when the flag falls. It dies when the people stop caring for one another. The only reason the flag remains hoisted, is because of all of the people that are holding it up. Maybe that is what that flag was supposed to mean in the first place.
We are well overdue for every state to have the same gun laws to make sense. So overdue. - When will we love our children more than guns?
Looking forward to driving some more seniors to their voting locations. They love to stop off and get coffee and doughnuts no matter the time of day after voting. It’s when the showing off of those Voting stickers.
So Trump, you think you have "severe problems". Any intelligent person could have told you that years ago. It seems like his dementia is getting gradually worse and I don't think he will complete his second term. At least that's what I hope for the American people. Good luck to all participants in the No Kings march tomorrow. I just hope it will pass off peacefully. We here in the UK will be watching in anticipation.
It’s clear that Trump hears us — the mocking by comedians, the caustic commentary by critics, the howls from his own MAGA crowd angry about fuel and food prices, the No Kings protests again and again. He knows his time is almost up, and he knows he hasn’t been able to repeat the “success” of his first term now, in Trump II. He’s frustrated — and angry.
A story that Russians tell keeps me going. A Russian at a newsstand is scanning the front page of a newspaper. The news dealer asks, “Whatcha looking for?” “An obit,” the man replies. “Obits aren’t on the front page,” says the dealer. “The one I’m looking for will be,” the man replies.
“No Kings” .. tomorrow. See you there.
Thank you Heather.

Thank you, Heather!
"When asked if he trusted Benjamin Netanyahu, he said, “I don’t trust anybody, honestly. In the world of politics, I don’t trust anybody..."
That's the pathetic thing about *RUMP: He's always focused on "loyalty"... and fear...
He's NEVER known trust - not for anyone, and above all because he cannot be trusted. And the entire world is seeing that now.
"The way that he described the work he was doing was as if he were putting the finishing touches on his own mausoleum."
That's exactly what he's doing...🤔
You’re doing great work, Heather. Thank you.
