Trump is using fear and lies about ICE and Minnesota to justify cruelty and push the country closer to authoritarian rule.
His language is meant to make people feel under attack and to position himself as the only one who can fix it. For many of his supporters, identity and belonging matter more than facts.
Congress is the only real check on Trump, which is why the midterms matter so much.
And America’s instability isn’t contained within our borders; this chaos is affecting the rest of the world and directly benefits Putin.
Thank you Heather. Just impeaching Trump solves nothing because Vance is already groomed by the malicious oligarchs funding Maga to replace him. There will be Constitutional experts reading this whom I humbly request to correct my mistakes. Those wiser in Constitutional law than I have said that if there are mid terms (moot at this point) and the Democrats win back Congress, that they should immediately invoke Article Two: Section Four of the American Constitution. As it allows allows for the impeachment of all involved in Trump’s illegal power abusing administration.
Imho the fatal flaw in the strategy is fair elections. When he wasn’t in control they were able to line up fake electors and only needed Pence to cooperate. NOW different story entirely… he has the election process locked up…. He will never relinquish power because he doesn’t follow the rules either here at home or globally. We need another plan.
For now, I think we have to focus on resisting, obstruction, protesting and winning the midterms. He is becoming more unhinged as he fears defeat. In the next 10 months his crazy will increase as his popularity plummets. Can a massively unpopular strongman consolidate power in a country our size? I don't think so, but the pain between now and his defeat is awful and will get worse. Day by day we fight through this. It's our only way.

I agree, but it can't be just any Democrat. Yes, we must take the House and Senate (with enough seats to convict), then select a Speaker of the House who will be a strong candidate for President. Then impeach Vance and Trump, and install the Speaker. My voice for Speaker? Today, it would be AOC - it may be the only way, in today’s climate, to put a woman in the White House.
