At 7:27 PM, Donald Trump emerged from behind the blue makeshift curtains wearing a dark suit and a bright red “USA” baseball cap. He drew a shape in the air with his finger before walking toward the podium, stopping to pull himself up the stairs before moving behind bulletproof glass at the Gastonia Municipal Airport in North Carolina. He then launched straight into an hour-long campaign rally for Michael Whatley, the Republican candidate for Senate, by attacking Democrats, fabricating crises that do not exist, and telling the crowd, “I was quite impressed with my intelligence. I'm a high IQ person after all.” He was impressed with himself for adding a dollar to a number.
I am so sorry you are having to sit beside a sick relative and am so grateful that you have even so found the time to write to keep us all informed.
As I read the post I was thinking Trump is like the spoilt child that throws a stone into a deep puddle to splash everyone, he has successfully tried to drown us all and the ripples of his corrupt self serving behaviour have caused huge problems world wide.
What is good and hopefully will start things improving is we are beginning to sort out the problems. Mark Carney is making an alliance with Europe, hopefully UK will start mending some European fences and we are all praying the midterms will remove in entirety Trumps evil ability to cause such chaos. Get out there and win the house and the senate.
Heather if I lived in USA I would bring you some soup , I hope you have a better day today. Sending love and hug.
I am weary when I am not angry or horrified. Tonight I can’t sleep again, so I am doing some drawing, a thing I call marker art. It has been a dependable relief valve when I have needed one, but it’s not a thing that takes me too far away from the fray. Tonight I will put my whole self into it, and then tomorrow it is back to active resistance.
I just wish to say thankyou for your courage and stamina as you wtite your daily posts. Thankyou for your humanity, your determination that the truth be heard, your compassion for the welfare of other writers such as you, your deep concern about how Trump's constant malignant lies are affecting not just your country, but the wider world. Thank you so much.
Thanks Heather - your courageous commitment tonight as you support a family member in the hospital is truly inspiring.
And I know we all feel the drain and the burden along with you of the relentless sh*t storm spewing from he who should not be named our President and his maladministration.
It will take all of our collective strength to grab hold of the America we know and love and wrestle it away from those who are actively perverting it for personal gain or too far gone to care.
We have to care. We have to vote. And we need to help others see the good in our country is worth saving.
Thank you Heather, you made me feel glad my family is well, physically. My 36yo son was born in Newport Beach CA but I relocated to NC where he went through K-NC State, never left. I shared tonight’s writing with him. My ex wife is probably MAGA, she still lives there, hopefully he can see what is happening and explain it to her. We need to flip the Senate. This is imperative. I live in RI, we have 2 incredible Senators!
OMG! This is so abominable and repetitive from IQ47 ! It makes me angry here, half a world away! I feel so sad and sorry for you who are in the thick of it. He is exposing himself for who he really is and it’s worse than we thought. But in a way, this must be a good thing for the coming elections. There are hints of the tide turning. Thankyou, Heather for all your work and your posts and best wishes for your family member. Love from Oz.
My thoughts are with you, your sick relative and all Americans that are tired and exhausted. Find strength from each other. Give support where and when you can…keep the faith! Nothing is for ever. X

Charlotte, can I second what you have said? I’m sure that your soup would be a big improvement on that picture, & a real comfort to Heather.
One thing that did come to mind is extra salt and pepper and a dash of Tabasco usually cures most soup ills. !
So Heather Tabasco in your handbag and start collecting salt and pepper from take aways xx
I hope your family member is doing OK, Heather.

(((hugs))) I know how stressful an illness in the family can be.
Thanks Heather, your hope carries us all. I'm sorry the food isn't what you wanted, but it's at least what you need. I know how that goes.

Again, thank you for your efforts. You are a champion for good and deserve all you wish for.
Best wishes to your relative, I hope the stay is a short one. With love from England
Thank you, Heather. I will add an extra prayer for your family member tonight. Take care of yourself too & eat well.

Hi Heather,
My thoughts are with you, your sick relative and all Americans that are tired and exhausted. Find strength from each other. Give support where and when you can…keep the faith! Nothing is for ever. X
