As he stood before a packed ballroom of conservative influencers, Republican donors, elected officials, and evangelical leaders at the Faith & Freedom Coalition's 2026 Road to Majority Conference inside the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., he opened with a joke about his short stature. From there, he spent a few moments praising the conservative movement inside the room, quoted Scripture, and then launched into a drawn-out declaration that the foundations of America were under violent attack, and attempted to build the case that the American left was no longer a political opposition, but an internal enemy to be feared, one made up of Marxists and communists.
The thing is that Trump is in a position financially and politically to say what he wants and it is so dirty. Vile and vicious lies against decent people who try and stand up to his lies.
But please guys scary as it is the Democrats must stand up to it, counter back without the need to abuse, but strongly to prove the lies.
I have just read what Pete Buttigieg has just been through with the false allegation involving his children and I am sickened. Trumps regime is so seriously dangerous and will stoop further into the gutter than any rat.

You made me remember that day in 1963 I was 8. A strange car had followed my grandmother and I home from our church on a Sunday morning, Claremont CA. It was a Unitarian church. We did not talk about any Gods there. My parents and grandparents talked about helping our neighbors. My parents had a folk music club, The Golden Ring. Some of the musicians were black.
When I went out on Monday morning I saw a bumper sticker on my grandmother’s 1961 Lincoln Continental with suicide doors “COMMUNIST”. I asked my Nana what it meant and why it was on her car. 10 years later I was told by my country that I was going to go to fight the communists in Vietnam because they were going to take over our country. My grandfather assured me he and I were leaving for Canada before I would be drafted into that war. I lived in Oakland then, I went to Berkeley with my High School friends, we protested against the war and our government. We were tear gassed and shot with rubber bullets. We ended the fake war against the communists. Yeah that word triggers me.

I’ve visited the USA on many occasions, both for business and vacation. What has always amazed me is how little the average person knows about other parts of the world. Don’t let the little Mike Johnsons of this world fool you into believing there is such a thing as the radical left or socialism (let alone communism) in the US. The democrats would be considered right wing or maybe on the political centre in Europe. Don’t let the Republicans scare you with their misleading rhetoric and please do accept that there is nothing wrong with being social (not to be confused with socialistic). Being social means you stand for a fair distribution of wealth, so the strongest shoulders carry the heaviest load. The Republicans want the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer or better even, to disappear. With this administration you are on the road to destruction. Authoritarianism always ends with disaster and has to be stopped. Unless you change the political climate, there will be nothing left than claiming that you did not know when it is all over. That is what happened in WW2 in Europe. And that is why you have to think before you believe politicians. We can only hope that, even under the pressure from Johnson and Trump, no self-respecting Republican will stick around for much longer to have their reputation ruined by association to this kind of despicable propaganda. If they do, when they lose in November, they WILL deserve whatever is coming to them!
Americans who believe in the power of a FREE and FAIR Democracy MUST use their vote to end this charade of normality and bring TRUE democracy back to the nation.
